Are Roxers more intelligent than other pop fans?

some still don’t know what is off-topic and roxette subjects.... ;)
beautyqueen said on August 9, 2003 10:08:
Roxette fans has nothing to do with Roxette? Gosh this is getting interesting!
kiwijazza said on August 9, 2003 10:33:
@Judith - You got that right. ;)
I think Roxers are smarter, in a way. Why? Well, let me put it this way - the other pop fans always fall for those horrible “Idol” shows on TV, or Popstars series. As for me, I’m kind of against made-for-TV bands. They don’t work as hard as “real” artists, such as Per and Marie. It took them years before they made it big, and these TV flops come along and steal the spotlight in 30 minutes. It’s sad. :(
That’s my rant for the evening. Hehehehe.

no beautyqueen..
I could make a topic in the Rox section...
“What do Roxette fans preffer, Pepsi or coca cola?”
and it still would be offtopic....
Santi said on August 9, 2003 15:59:
More intelligent :| Why???
- Sure, it’s very intelligent to buy the CDs twice to make Roxette sales bigger (and one of the richest people in Sweden, Per himself, even richer).
- It’s very intelligent to ask for the piano chords of a song, and in the next thread on TDR for the guitar chords for the same song... (ehem... a “musician” asks that...).
- It’s very intelligent to buy the 5 compilations of your idol with the same songs you already have in the albums.
- I could go on...
The only thing that I want to say is that so many people (because Roxette still has many fans) can’t be “more intelligent” or “less intelligent”, they are average. We are average.
And many of us like other bands too, for example I like a lot Crowded House, Oasis or The Stone Roses, so... if you count the fans of other bands to know if they are very intelligent or plain stupid, will you count me in for the 4 bands?
Pop fans like pop music, but the music you hear is in little relation with your intelligence... the most intelligent person I know just listens to Carlos Vives... a Colombian singer.
Fans are fans, and there are of every colour and every condition, and Roxette fans, are no better people than trash metal fans, to give an example.

I’ve scored 159 in an IQ test. ...but I’m not a Roxette fan :P
not any more at least.
Ferdan said on August 10, 2003 07:46:
The only distinctive thing of Rox fans is that many (a lot) of them are *at least* bilingual...

kiwijazza, I’m sorry but I’m one of those pop fans, and I’m a big Roxfan too. I don’t think being intelligent and being fan of some artist have any relation. I can be more intelligent than thousands of people, and thousands of people surely are more intelligent than me... and they don’t like Roxette.
But something it’s true, Roxfans have good taste in music ;-)

Santi I am with you all the way. You said what I was about to type.
beautyqueen what makes you think Roxette fans are more intelligent?!
derek said on August 12, 2003 09:04:
i dont think that anybody is more intelligent than the next person our brain is like a computer it stores a multitude of information from all sources and it depends on the individuel how he or she uses that info in every day life some are better at using that info than others but that depends on how we have trained ourselves but does this have any thing to do with who is smarter than the other (does this make any sence)
derek said on August 12, 2003 09:08:
no. i wasnt missing the point. and no. roxers are just like any other fan it doesnt take intelligence just good taste for music
antz said on August 12, 2003 09:31:
Not more inteligent, just dont change my mind to go along with every passing fad, have good taste in music and maybe a touch sentimental.
animalkingdom said on August 12, 2003 18:09:
Umm...No. Like any artist’s fan base, you can divide people over here to beautyqueens (woohoo, I’m in!)...and santi’s. :(

Well,
When it comes to “Intelligent” Pop music than
Pet Shop Boys Fans would probably be more Intelligent than Rox fans.
I Love Rox ..... but that’s just Harsh Reality LOL
kachina008 said on February 5, 2004 20:51:
Euro4ever: then I guess I am lucky that I am a PSB fan too! or does the opposing effect cancel itself out?? :P
Markuz said on February 5, 2004 23:11:
It’s quite stupid to think that because you like a certain band you’re smarter than others...
Was that true, we could make any random connection between two different atributes and then pretend its for real...
MiracleMan said on February 5, 2004 23:43:
Coyboy—there are intelligent peopel here?
Unintentional or not, that was a howler!
And wow! A BQ thread not about BQ!
Euro4Ever said on February 6, 2004 15:07:
@ Kachina008
I did not say that Rox’s songs were stupid. I just said that PSB songs were IMO more intelligent. There is No opposing effect LOL

Are Roxers more intelligent than other pop fans? Of course not! ... that would be like saying that people who watches Star Trek are more intelligent than those who watches Friends.

nice joke
