Copy Protected Cd's

Does anybody know how to burn copy protected cd’s? I think it’s a great technology.
I know those cd’s have 2 sessions: the audio tracks and the data track at the ending, but this is very strange because it does include a file of 809 MB!.

Hi Arnie! It’s much easier than what I thought it would be. To copy a copy-protected CD, you have to rip the songs into mp3 format with a program which is used to do that (for example, Sound Forge, Play Center, Goldwave, etc.) and then, you only have to burn it on a virgin-CD as ussually. Don’t be afraid of the quality of the mp3s, it’s great...
I hope this could have helped you.
Remember to notice me when you have the Marie’s DVD in divx and those things we have already talked about...
A big huge,

Leandro.

I think that Copy Protected CD’s are a bad idea.

1. You can easily copy them.
2. They can’t be played on any CD players.
3. The sound quality of the compressed files (for playing with a PC sucks...).

I’m against it because I have an MP3 player which I carry around. I don’t want to take my original CDs around ’cos the can get broken or scratched.
So I make MP3 out of them to play when I’m on the train. At home I use the ordinary CD.

Now I don’t think it’s fair not to be able to make a copy for your own personal use if you have the original.

I’m against copying CDs to people who don’t have the original because music is not free. I agree with that but they should find another way... I’ll leave this to the experts...

You forgot one reason:

4. It raise the prices of the cds.

frodi: it does?

Did anyone else notice that Pers new disc isn’t actualy a cd??? as there is no logo on it to say so.(well not that I can see)

Phillips (owners of Compact Disc) were not impressed with the new copy protection stuff and so alot of the new dscs are not allowed to display the Compact Disc logo as not all of them will play in a standard cd player.

i am against copy protection too - i bought both TBH and TPH, TBH worx fine for me, but TPH only worx in 2 of my 5 cd players / cd drives etc - a collection of old and new players. Why should i be punished when i pay good money for the cds and cant listen to them in the player i want to!? I understand the reasoning behind copy protection, its a shame its gone this far, but when it prevents me from using something i paid for, then im against it.

@vix

somebody else noticed that

If anyone is interested too

WARNING - If you use an Mac or Apple computer, DO NOT insert any copy protected material in the cd rom drive.

Copy protected discs are not recognised as “compact discs” because it they don’t conform to the standards established by Philips and are therefore not covered by Apple’s warrenty :
