Do your family like Roxette too?

I’ve been wondering about this for a while now...
I have two brothers - one 17 and one 15, and each of us have totallly different music tastes.
My 15 year old brother doesn’t think much of stuff which is non-heavy metal, he likes Rammstein, Tool and the like.
My 17 year old appreciates the odd ABBA or Roxette song here and there, though certainly not as much as I do - he is into U2 very much as well as Coldplay, Crowded House etc...
Ach - obviously a recessive gene in my family! :)
So do your family like Roxette?

My mum doesn’t. My dad says he doesn’t, but he knows a lot of the songs, and will sing along if they come on the radio... but that could just be because he’s heard me play the songs over and over! LOL!

nah mine dont like them.... they think my “addiction” is sooo annoying. sayin that though, whenever i play Joyride or The Look, my dad is like, who used to do this??? then he sings along!!
when he helped me link up and sort out my dvd player... i put the roxette dvd in, and he was like, go to Joyride! lol!

I think that my family likes Roxette, but they aren’t fans. My father likes rock (Led Zeppelin...), my sister likes Marilyn Manson and other too wild music for me. My mother..hm...she doesn’t have a favourite band, I think. Anyway my father likes songs like Joyride. He misses the power in Rox’s newest music. For him is today’s Roxette slow :-)
My fiancé likes Roxette. I asked him.

Hehehehe, Toby -your post reminds me of the time when Mum bought me ’Roxette -The videos’ as a present, we all (whole family) sat down to watch it, as I remember these were some of their reactions:
My Dad: “Dunno whats happened to music these days, its all just synthesizers and noise!” (durring The Look)
My Mum: “Thats a nice song, but why does she have to have her hair so short?”
My sister: “Oh no! not joyride, I’ve heard it a thousand times, and whats with that leotard shes wearing?”
My brother: Goo, goo. gah, gah (he was just a baby at the time, now he is 15, when he sees their early vidoes, he laughs his ass off, he just thinks they are a joke :(

My father loves Marie’s voice, and my mother says Per has a beautiful voice, too. Sometimes my father “stole” one of my Rox albums. And my brother... well, he likes more heavy and that kind of things... but when Roxette came to BCN during RS tour, we went together, and i think he had a good time :)

SUCCESS: my Dad is a now a major Roxette fan!
He went to see the C!B!B! tour in Edinburgh with me and since then he has bought most of their CDs.
His favourite album is TWATG and favourite songs include:
Small Talk / So Far Away / Lies / Juni Juli Augusti / Kix / I’ll Be Alright / Anyone / Real Sugar.
Also, I have persuaded him to come to Sweden with me next summer if Gyllene Tider do a tour!

My mum likes ’anyone’ alot , she loves ’the look’ also . i heard her singing ’breathe’ the other day , but singing ’free’ instead of breathe in the chours LOL. they hear the songs as the pass my room , and i have it loud alot hehe.

My mother couldn´t understand me several years. But now I think she is okej with that. She likes the video Real Sugar a lot and when I said to her I am going to Stockholm to see Per I was really surprised about her reaction... it was very possitive.

But I Love Roxette and don´t care about what other ppl. say, that is matter for me. ;-)

I became a Rox fan thanks to my elder brother - he started to listen to Roxette in Look Sharp era. Nowadays I´m a bigger Rox Fan than him... :-)

Actually I became a fan of Roxette, because she gave me a cassette with some Roxette-tracks on it.
Since then I loved roxette.
The rest of my family do not know roxette very well.
