Gyllene Tider in English?

Were any Gyllene Tider albums in English? I’vebeen somewhat confused by allmusic.com - they claim that Pals, the 1982 album, is in English, but all the track names are Swedish. 1993’s Heartland Cafe looks to be English, but you never know...
And does anyone know why Per chose to do Mazarin in Swedish? Having finally got hold of TWATG, I want more, more, more...

GT’s Heartland Cafe is probably the worst (for the very fans the “less good”) record ever signed by Gessle :s

Hey! Lots of info on GT in English for you here: http://www.evensson.com/gyllenetider/ There’s also a section about Modern Times, one of GT’s disguises.

I agree with Santi... “Heartland Cafe” is their less good album !! :) [ But both “Heartland Cafe” and “Kiss From A Stranger” tracks are GREAT]

Also there are “I go to pieces” and “Threnody”, both in English, as extra tracks on the “Puls” album.
I bought the Gyllene Tider CDs many years ago for the English tracks but the Swedish music was much better, with a couple of exceptions including the track Heartland Cafe, which is awesome.
On the whole I definitely think that the English tracks lack the passion and imagination of the earlier and later Swedish music.
Best wishes, Rich-UK

You see, that’s a personal opinion, because i am also a die hard rox-gt-solo fan and i really like Heartland café!

Heartland Cafe Is a Must have for any roxette fan as it is a Precursor to Roxette, you have Per Singing and Marie Doing vocals. Plus you have the Fantastic songs [My Favs in no order]:
Run Run Run
Break Another Heart
Dreaming
Demon Emptiness
Even if it Hurts It’s Allright
Can I touch you
Heartand Cafe [Would Have been better as an Acoustic song like the intro]
Kiss From a Stranger [Should Have been on the album]
Anytime Demo
Cheers
Dave
P.S. GT where going to create another band before HC called Modern Times and sing in english.

I think that the Heartland Café album is great, but I actually think of it more as a Roxette album then a Gyllene Tider album, but it´s great none the less.
Best track are Break Another Heart & Heartland Café.

Ditroia: It’s “Can you touch me?”, not the other way :D
It’s actually the only song from that record I play :s

Well, when I first purched GT’s box set many years ago, I found Heartland Cafe to be the best CD of the 5 and played it a lot more frequently than the others. Sure, there were great songs on the others, but for some reason they just didn’t klick with me as much as HC. I think part of the reason was that it seemed as if the sound quality was kind of low... I’m not sure why, maybe something to do with when they were recorded.
BUT... when they started to release their newer stuff (like Ga & Fiska, Juni Juli Augusti, Det ar over nu, kung av sand), I totally got into the true GT (their Swedish stuff). Actually, Atartaget is probably 1 of my top 5 CD’s of all time... so much energy captured on that CD, it pretty amazing!
I would say that all of GT’s CDs are a must have for true Roxette fans, but if you have to start with a few, I would go with Atartaget & Heartland Cafe. That way you’ll get their best Swedish stuff live plus their English stuff that is closest to the Roxette sound!

Hej
@ PerFanatic - First of all, cool nick name ! :) Second of all... don’t forget about “Konstpaus”, it’s a compilation, but it really ROCKS... It’s my fave Gyllene Tider album.
All the best

I think it’s not demo of Anytime on HC CD. Tev, correct me if I’m wrong ;)
tevensso (moderator) said on July 13, 2003 19:48:
No it’s not a demo, but yes, it’s only 3 of the GTs on it. MP, PG and Syd. So I’d say “half-demo”? ;)

I’m glad that Per did this album in Swedish. OK - I don’t understand the lyrics - but it is great. I was in Lulea (Norrbotten, Northern Sweden) a week ago. When I was at McDonalds they were playing HKAK in background. Suddenly all the Swedes around me started singing or at least moving with the rythm. (at McDonalds!) With an English album he couldn’t have that crazy effect on Swedish people I guess... (Of course I bought a copy of Mazarin and HKAK! Yeah - and it’s No1 now)

Heartland cafe is in english (and not the best Gyllene Tider album at all)
He writes better lyrics in swedish...
and it seems he wanted a personal album, so it had to be in swedish, his natural language.
