I’m just finishing University. I’m just waiting to know if I passed 1 subject, and I’ll be graduate! :P
I’d like to go on in the university... though no in the one I have studied so far. Any tips?
xuxa said on June 21, 2003 15:12:
Santi, I can imagine what are you feeling now:) I remember that when I was wating for the result of my last subject I was so nervous that I couldn’t sleep. And I had nightmares about it. And then one day, I was lunching and a friend phoned to me from the university saying that I passed the exam. it was such an amazing felling that I started to cry, I just couldn’t believe:)
I’m sure it will happen with you too very soon ;)

Thank you Derek - this is a great topic - really interesting to read what everyone does.
Derek - can you provide more details on your job - do you actually spray paint the entire plane? How often do you have to paint a plane?
Kachina - keep up the great work - trust me - when you are done, it will feel great!
Xuxa - you have one of the most difficult jobs in the world! You may not realize it, but you are shaping our future by being a teacher. Kids are sometimes bad, but when they grow up, they will realize that you were a positive influence in their lives.
Shane said on June 21, 2003 17:53:
Oops - forgot to mention my job.
I work for a system office that oversees several hospitals and other health care organizations. My job is to analyze all financial, clinical and operational data to find sub-optimal performance, then determine how to improve that performance to meet system goals.
xuxa said on June 21, 2003 18:15:
Shane, I realize that, of course:) That is one of the reasons why I decided to be a teacher and why I love my job:) And I hope that all the effort that I am doing can influence positively my pupils in their future lifes:)

I love being a teacher as well. I will not be a school teacher ofcourse as I am going to grad school and all... but I will definitely try to become a university prof. Or a NASA astronaut. I’ll wait and see where I take life.
xuxa said on June 22, 2003 21:44:
Damineh: Good luck! I really wish that your dreams come true:) I am planning to start my master degree next year, but as being a university prof., I dunno, maybe one day... Work with kids can be a tough job but, honestly, I really think that it’s much more pleasurable work with kids than with adults:)
DaminehGessle said on June 23, 2003 05:30:
Yeah xuxa but I am a very impatient person and I want to see the best of everyone. Unfortunately there are kids who may not get the subject well and i get mad! That’s bad of me but I am confessing so I hope you understand heehee.
I still have 1 more year to go on my undergrad studies. I decided to do a doublemajor which has taken so long even though I have been taking 6-7 courses every single term non-stop, 12 months a year. I am also doing coop which means we have to work 5 terms in order to get our degree and it should be in between our academic terms. that itself is another 20 months! I only have 3 more terms left. I am so excited to get into grad school.

I am a Web Designer and a Flasher (Macromedia Flash MX designer). I love my job too. Though it needs a lot of creativity and brain and sometime the deadlines are killing but it is an exciting job. The clients are the worst thing ever possible yet I am beginning to understand how to deal with them. I work in a Software house and also as a freelance web designer.
Each website/flash animation is like a child to me so yes I love them and I love them even more when people love and they when they get listed somewhere :)
I was wondering if there is any other web designer around (TDR).

P.S: where is TinyBubbles?

Apart from working in a stupid supermarket, I did practice-work with the university.
It was studying a the effective protection of a Natural Park for an Environmental NGO. It was for preparing independent information for the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands hold in Valencia last November. We had to go to all this wetlands and talk to Park directors, politicians, agricultors and other agents involved, also see that what they told us was true, and make sure that the protection granted in their declaration of Natural Park is granted and no one violated it.
xuxa said on June 25, 2003 20:35:
That’s funny:) When I was in university I worked in a supermarket too, a part-time job. You know, unpack things and put products away on the shelves. Very boring!!!!!

I am an elevator opperator!
Umm.. Kidding there. I work for an internet outsourcing company (at least that is what they tell me it is.). Basically, we provide customer service by live chats to several companies.
I am basically the company slave because since we are a rather small company and there are many things that we’d rather do ourselves rather than send other people to do them. My job title is General Manager/Trainer. Though full time slave works well for me. ;P
DaminehGessle said on June 27, 2003 05:11:

Haha zee trying to imagine you flash! Woohaa!!
