Why always 'Gessle'?

Just wondering - why is it that alot of the time people refer to Per as ’Gessle’? No-one really refers to Marie or any of the other roxband members by their surnames but Per gets ’Gessle’ all the time. Is there any special reason for this?

Because it’s short and cute.

just because it sounds very Gessle-ish :P

Becaus Gesse is not usual name, Fredriksson is.

the world according to Gessle

cause everyone mis=pronounces per i guess

I refer to him usually as Mr. Gessle :P:D lol :D

Cuz “Pear” is a fruit :D

because his artist name for one of the best albums ever is Gessle....without Per,.....

how do you pronounce ’Per’?

@on_a_mission: Just like the fruit!

no you don’t... you don’t pronounce per like pear...

Alrighty, then.... how is it pronounced?

I guess Per says Per... like Pear because most of the fans pronounce it that way.

Isn’t it like... Purr?

you should say per like “per” in “100 kilobytes per second” ;)

Per is pronnounced as “how much PER month?”, I think.
*edit* hehe, we posted it at the same time.

No, Per is not pronounced like “purr,” that’s for sure... just listen to the way they say his name on the Swedish radio stations...

We don’t pronounce Per, we say “Gessle” :D:D:D

I’m sticking to Purr... As in the way the others are saying... per second, per kilo... Purr, purr, purr!

I say Per... as in pair, pear when speaking about him to another brit... cuz of my accent.

He says his own name in “Reporter”... “She wants the management to tell her where she can interview Marie and Per” (where “Per” is rhymed with “where”)!

He does indeed... and you hit the nail on the head... because it rhymed!! Hehehe! ;)

Like I said previously, I say Pear... ! :D
Doesn’t Sweden have accents, depending on what part you are from... maybe that makes a difference? *Shrugs shoulders*

I’ve lived in Sweden and had a teacher with that name, and two classmates also (pretty common name...), and the main character in my book of Swedish language (Goda Grunder) was called like that... so I can assure you that I know how it’s pronounced :D (I’ve pronounced it in the classroom in front of the teacher hundreds of times!)...
And yeah, it rhymes with “where”...

thanx...I consider myself truly enlightened now. :)

There’s a better reason for saying Gessle instead of Per.

There are loooooooots of Per’s in Sweden... but how many Gessles?? That is popular there just one!!! :P

Edit: (I just read that Mari said something simillar :D) How original I am :S

maybe when ’the world according to fredriksson’ is released, things will change...
