What does Per really mean?

Per will go on writing Roxette songs if he has nothing else to do, “Writing songs is probably what I like best.”

Hmm... does it mean that if his single career takes off, this will be the end of roxette?

no, i think he meant it’s pointless to write Rox songs ’cos no one knows when exactly Marie is going to be ok for Roxette so it’s better to pay more attention to his own stuff and Gyllene’s stuff.

i really dont like per solo anyway lol. roxette are international per local LOL

Just as local as Marie. Anyway, I think he means that he will never stop writing songs, they could be for Roxette, for GT, for himself, for others. What he means is that music is coming!!!!!

Santi: I think you are right.

what? he said that he is writing roxette songs, didn’t he?

According to expressen he said: Now when Marie is sick I’ll write some roxette songs

He should work for new Roxette album instead of releasing Swedish-language solo album.
*frustrated fan*

@Stormkeeper: Why can’t he do both? One doesn’t necessarily come at the cost of the other...

actually i would love to hear mario’s upcoming solo album, she’s great on her own too

“Why can’t he do both?”

because time is a thing that can’t be bought at the stores....

Marie is off (at least from Roxette) for the rest of the year... even if Per spent every waking moment from January to December writing Roxette tunes, they still wouldn’t see the light of day until Marie comes back to work. For all we know, he’s already demoed enough songs for the next six Roxette albums... if he has to wait for Marie anyway, what’s the point in writing more? Like I said, working on other projects doesn’t necessarily come at the expense of Roxette... he can do both, and getting a solo album from Per is a nice treat while everyone’s waiting for Marie to return to working with Roxette.

YEAH, Per is a prolific songwriter, par excellence. He can write songs with hooks that come effortlessly out of his ass. They can be used for Roxette, his solo career, a reunited Gyllene Tider, or he can just give more songs to Belinda Carlisle, doesn’t matter. A Gessle song is ALWAYS going to be great quality, and at least he has lots of options to work from. If Marie is sick, he can do another solo record, or do GT’s 25th anniversary with new songs for an album...Per has a great rep too, so if someone comes to Per and asks him for a song for his/her next album, he can just pick any one he feels like.

See, in Per’s world, Roxette is NOT the most important thing, they all are equally....

@daniel_alv - i thought the same thing when i read that.

Swedish solo-albums sounds like the end of Roxette to me.

Storm - Marie has done solo albums inbetween Roxette and it hasn’t been the end of Roxette.

Simply put, he’s a workaholic. And even if he doesn’t have Roxette to play around with for a year or so, he won’t stop creating music.

I think he should do whatever feels good for him. And I think it is selfish when people take a negative tone to him working his solo work rather than concentrating on Roxette.

Why is it that every now and then someone has to post “well, this looks like the end of Roxette.” It amazes me how many fans think that if one member of Roxette does a solo project or they are releasing compilation albums that it’s immediately the end of Roxette. It’s quite amusing. Hasn’t Per said many times himself that this is not the end of Roxette? As someone stated above, Marie has the rest of the year off. So a Roxette new studio release is not going to happen. I think this solo Swedish album by Per is a nice way to give fans something while we wait for a new studio Roxette album. I don’t even understand Swedish, so yes, I wish it was in English. But hey, it’s been a while since Per did something in Swedish, so he also owes it to his Swedish-speaking fans as well. :)
