I had a simalar experience... became a fan in 91 and remember from 2 years earlier that whilst I was watching TV one Saturday morning (THE CHART SHOW!) I love this really cool video and this song by this group.... it was only when I became a big fan in 91 that I remember the song was “Dressed For Success” I can still remember sitting in my Dad chair under the window watching TV and tapping my feet to the music....
(it is still so fresh in my mind as it was a special day and I was waiting for my Dad to arrive home from work.... that is why I remember it so well....)

LOL! You reminded me of the things I used to say about Roxette to make them bigger than they were to make myself look good for loving them.
At Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert, amazing bands and artists performed. I was in love with Roxette then and I liked Queen A LOT. I was so excited about the Tribute Concert and how great it was that I started telling everyone Roxette was one of the performers. Ofcourse back then not many people could get a hand on the video to the event (in Iran) and as far as I remember, I was the only one. So yeah I started telling everyone that someone had recorded on my video by mistake and that Roxette’s performance was erased, as they were the last performer hahaha. Now that I think about it, I am very very happy not to have got caught for that. I would have been so embarrassed if someone knew more than me on Queen :D.

I remembered that before I’ve been a fan, a friend asked me who sing It Must Have Been Love and I answered Debbie Gibson :) But I really thought she did!

This is a rather embarrassing story, but it’s funny, and I can laugh at myself, so I will share it with you guys.
Many years ago, long long looooong before I was a rox fan (oh, my god – who could imagine such a thing!) I had this argument with a friend of mine. See, I swore that a video we saw on tv was that of Roxette. (it wasn’t)
She couldn’t understand how I could be such an idiot, and I couldn’t believe that she didn’t agree with me. We didn’t speak to one another for almost a whole week. This happened in 1990. For some strange reason the argument was never settled. I guess since neither of us liked Roxette (once again, - who could imagine such a thing!!) or the other band
In 1992 (well, hello – finally!) I started getting into Roxette.. Between then and the first time I got my hands on the Pearls of Passion cd – I was still convinced the band in the video I saw, was Roxette. All I remembered of the video was a woman with the same hairstyle as Marie and in the video there were newspaper clippings flying around, and well I guess in the back of my head I associated that with the Look Sharp album cover.
Of course, that song wasn’t on Look Sharp. So then I was convinced it was on the first album Roxette released. I really liked the song, so when I got my hands on POP I was so excited to at long last hear that song again. Of course it wasn’t on Pop, since it wasn’t a Roxette’s song. I was sooo confused. Then I convinced myself it was just a Roxette single, never released on an album.. (this is just too pathetic..)
So, there I was in my Godmother’s house one day, and I am going through her 80’s album collection. And o my god. I finally heard the song. And it wasn’t Roxette.
Apart from this incident, I am actually normally usually a slightly more intelligent person. Really I am! :$
And in my defence, I would just like to say that it could easily have been a Rox song. It is kinda Gessleish….
The Band was TRANSVISION VAMP and the song went something like…’I don’t want you’re money honey, I want your love!’
