ally, if you’re getting a lot of popups, and you didn’t use to get them before. It’s for sure that you have a spyware program installed in your computer.
Those ugly programs spy on you, and they send you ads (in popups) according to the sites you’re visiting, they’re really annoying and intrusive.

To get your computer rid of spyware use the next programs... they’re great:
SpyBot: http://security.kolla.de/

and
AdWare: http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/

they both are for free.

If you wanna get rid of “normal” popups (nonspyware ones)
you could try
POW: http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/network/pow.htm

it’s a program that closes automatically the Internet Explorer windows that you add in a list.
If you see a popup, you just select it in the POW’s list, and it will close it... and the next time you get the same popup, POW will close it automatically.
