I think the best video ever is CBB, it is a work of art. However, Almost Unreal (the one without film episodes though), Vulnerable, Queen of Rain and Anyone (the censored one) are fine, too. Somewhere at the time of YDUM something must have gone wrong, however. Or was it just Jonas Akerlund becoming Roxette’s main video director? I dislike June Afternoon, WICF, Salvation and most of videos shot after 1996. I think Roxette tried to make something other than usual predictable videos, but unfortunately out of it came nothing original or beautiful.

Um, Chileanguy, I couldn’t disagree more!! Why, to you, is a straight-ahead performance clip like LTYH your fave?? Sure, Marie looks great, but you might as well watch a concert. My fave is “June Afternoon”, it’s AWESOME and the epitome of what POWERPOP is all about!! In my opinion, it’s the best video EVER made by ANY ARTIST!!!! Why?? Cuz NO ONE ever caprtured the POWERPOP VIBE in a major videoclip before!!! You just don’t “get” powerpop, and that’s OK!!
Other faves: “Fingertips ’93” (again, POWERPOP), “Opportunity Nox” (great but low budget animation, adding to the powerpop vibe of the tune), “Stars” (yes, daft, but funny, visually arresting, and moving in it’s storyline, plus those ducks are cute...), “Real Sugar” (once again, the POWERPOP vibe, anything with muppets like that is powerpop, let alone the song is), “Wish I Could Fly” (hypnotic and sensual), “Anyone” (sad, moving and shocking), and if I have to pick any performance clip, “She Doesn’t Live Here Anymore” cuz of the raw energy and rocking vibe...

I thinks it’s great, there’re having a ball in that one I think; Per in particular looks like he’s having a lot more fun then usual, and has some amusing expressions here and there.
The long lingering shot at the end is a little odd though.
Other good clips are Fireworks, the previously mentioned Juine Afternoon, and any of those early ones are good for a laugh ;)

Sant, you get “June Afternoon”, very 60s and powerpop in the visuals. Yep, Marie looks str8 outta the 60s, which is perfect for the video and the song!!
Again, Chileanguy, you don’t understand powerpop, and that’s the whole point of the JA clip, powerpop and its 60s references, but that’s OK, but don’t put it down for lack of understanding!! Clowns are powerpop; you can never have too much eye-popping colour; the people are beautiful in it (Sweden has no ugly people, and yes, Marie looks ultracute, str8 outta the 60s); the guy in the tub is a guy model, not aa drag queen, and the bathtub is full of beans, a reference to the movie “Tommy” (but you don’t get it, so that was obvious); the woman with body paint was the followup image to the Andy Warhol-ish guy painting the girl’s body; she looked COOL btw.
Like I said, you don’t “get” it, but to me, it is a dfream come true, that video, to a powerpop loving person like myself, that’s why Per is a genius. I’m sure the ideas were all his, or at least a good portion of them were; it seems totally of his brain, what he likes and is influenced by, namely powerpop, and 60s pop culture. But er, the song WEAK??!!?? Um, I know it’s just opinion, but that is PURE PROOF you don’t GET POWERPOP, becxause that’s a PERFECT powerpop song!!!! There aren’t many finer examples of the form, just delightful, and a fave song of mine, by anyone!!
Lastly, you don’t get it, and that is OK!!

Someone asked why we hate “Stars” clip, right ? I think that the real question should be “How come someone enjoy to a see a video with plastic ducks, Marie dancing with long arms in a stupid queen costume and b/w for a song supposed to be up and fast ?” This video is the worst thing ever. (Worst than the Telletubies).

Stars is a great video. If you can see past Marie’s dress, (which is difficult for some of you, it seems) you’ll see that the video does have a meaning. The ending is very sad :-(

Yeah, the video for “Stars” is something of a big misunderstanding. A classic case of “love it or hate it” poll only here it seems (rather unfairly) that the “hate it” group is far more important than the “love it” one.
I like that video : down to earth yet stylish. beautifully shot but funny. It’s wonderfully filmed and doesn’t take itself seriously which is a great thing for me.
I like videos where band members are not willing to try and look like fashion models. I think Marie’s image/looks on the “Stars” video is far more interesting than in other predictable and boring videos like “It Must Have Been Love”, “Fading Like A Flower” or even “Listen To Your Heart”.
