OK, boykie, your taste, but sorry, Good Charlotte is trying to be powerpop, but they are just generic, sub Green Day, aka mall pop/punk.
Storm, YEPPERS, Rick Springfield tours every year, he came back to music in a big way in 1997 or 1998, after a 10 year break. His first album in 10 years, 1999’s “Karma”, is flat-out BRILLIANT, and yep, “Celebrate Youth” is one of my faves too. I met him once too, in 1999, hard to believe the guy is 54!!
I think ALL Roxette fans would love Rick’s tunage, his stuff has the same appeal, and Rick is as much of an underrated pop genius as Per is. Dontcha think???
Jack, New Found Glory are not my thing, but I kinda do like Sugarcult. That “Bouncing Off The Walls” song is pretty cool. Thanxx KixGuy!!
Two other bands I love: SUGARBOMB (Their “Bully” record is a total instant powerpop CLASSIC), and my latest discovery: Boston band DAMONE!! Wow, their debut album, “From The Attic”, on RCA, is a gem, somewhere between Cheap Trick, Letters To Cleo, and Josie + The Pussycats!! Short album, 11 songs, 30 minutes, but it’s all killer, no filler, but they are awesome!! Noelle is a cool frontwoman!!
