New fans?

Hi, I’m new here.
I’ve started getting into roxette only in the last few months, when on a whim I off-handedly downloaded some song I had vague memories of as a lil’ kiddy (joyride).
What I was wondering was, is Roxette attracting new fans?
Unsurprisingly it seems most of the people here got swept up in the look sharp/joyride craze and just haven’t gone away since then, when many have.
I’d be interested to know how many of the people here are ’newbies’ to Roxette in general.

Roxette attracted my attention after the release of Look Sharp, so I’m really an old fan.
I think it is a good question because I was also wondering if the new singles/albums are attracting new fans. Hopefully they do.

I’ve learnt that there are quite a few people who just bought Room Service – over here, at least.

yes-i know for “newbies” in my country and Russia too– i mean fans after RS ...and it’s quite good result cos there no much promotion about Roxette ..at least in my country last years....

Well i suppose i can be among “newbies”too,
because i became Rox-fan 5 years ago.But i fell in love with them earlier-when i first time heard SMT.
Anyway,i think that such album as RS doesn’t
reflect the real Roxette.LS,Joyride are perfect and
of course can be loved by those, who are listening to them first time. And RS is not for the first listening.Personally i wouldn’t pay attention to it if i didn’t know them. But it’s only my opinion.

5 years, i think,is a very small period. Some people stay with them from the beginning. They follow them everywhere and know all about them.I don’t.

Been a fan since I heard The Look on the radio about 14 years ago now (I think.. it was when it was in the top 10 in Canada anyways) so I don’t think I count as a new one. :)

I listened to Look Sharp in the far away 1988.
After I listened to Listen to your heart, I felt in love for Roxette.
Forever in my heart

It is an interesting question, because I think there’s a lot of people who fit into the category of xarrrr and I, who are just rediscovering what we remember of our distant pasts, and not because they’re hearing new albums.
I didn’t have the vaguest idea that Roxette was still around, I thought they’d disapeared in the early 90s (or even the 80s; the memory cheats ;), and when people discover I like them they are also surprised they’re still bringing out albums (and then they say something negative about them, cos Roxette is far from cool here in Australia).
A lot of people becoming fans here through hearing them on the radio are a thing of the past too I suspect though I don’t listen to the radio much.

Hi Stormkeeper,
Reading some of the other posts here, I think I’m a little unusual in that I like practically every song I’ve heard. Obviously there’s some I like more than others but I find it odd people saying they don’t this and they don’t like that, it’s all good to me.
Crash Boom Bang would have to be my favourite though, it just has so much depth to it. I’m just discovering Per’s solo work though, and what I’ve heard of The World According to Per Gessle is just unreal! (I don’t own it at this stage though, it’d cost me a packet)
