i always wanted to start something like this (me playing keyboards), but i don´t have any friends who would like to join such a band

yes, there is a roxette-cover band. they’re called JOYRIDE (how creative!?) and they play gigs in germany i guess. here’s there website: http://www.joyride-roxettecoverband.de/

None in the US, but still, unless there is a great concept, as well as there are Per + Marie lookalikes AND soundalikes, it won’t work. PLUS, besides Rox tunes, there should be some originals; otherwise it won’t last. Look at the A*Teens, if all they did was ABBA covers, they wouldn’t have lasted for more than 1 album or transcended the novelty.
There are some tribute bands in the US: a Long Island Heart tribute band called “Bad Animals” which actually pulls it off!! BA’s website is: www.bad-animals.com, check it out. And, I’m not a fan, but there is a Long Island Journey tribute band called “Evolution”, and they pull it off as well, www.almostjourney.com....
