Hi
Did anyone hear his solo-album? How is it? Anything to do with SG sound? I only heard singles and they´re quite catchy.
Opinions please and if you have seen him live please share your experience.

It’s pretty cool... see if you can downlload the Demo for “Dirty” it’s better and much much more raunchy than his album version! *grin*
But, yea, it is worlds away from SG CD.

I quite enjoy it. It has some really good songs on it. I love “Insatiable.” It’s one of my favorite songs ever. “Crush (1980 Me)” is also a fantastic pop song!

Ever heard the song “I want You” from Savage Garden”? The song sounds like Roxette’s song The Look isn’t it? The first time i heard that song i thought that was a Mr. G’s voices and god...!!! I was wrong.
Stormkeeper said on April 25, 2003 13:58:
@hotblooder
I don´t know about The Look but I Want You sure sounds like TCOTH:

Well, I don’t even think it sounds so much like TCOTH, hmm, maybe like TCOTH on speed! ;-)

coyboyusa said on April 28, 2003 22:30:

Ally87 said on April 29, 2003 16:11:

I used to hate him a lot but eventually ended up buying his album from cdon sales...And yes, it IS a good LP; Strange Relationship is absolutely adorable & Crush is brilliant - till the chorus :(

Try the song SPIN. It’s the best one on the album! I really love Darren’s voice.
coyboyusa said on April 29, 2003 22:30:

OK, I’ve always thought Savage Garden were pretty cool, if a bit wimpy (in a good way), and I saw them live once, pretty good show, but Darren was flaming that evening, got a bit too much sometimes. The two albums were quite good, and his solo album was just as great, if a bit different. I enjoyed “Crush (1980 Me)”, never saw the video though. I HATE Michael Jackson’s voice, but Darren is like if MJ was actually good!!
Yes I am straight, but for a while, I’ve always known (or thought) Darren was gay, was I right?? I heard he was married then divorced, then either dating another girl, I have no clue, and I get totally confused on what he is, so I don’t dwell anymore, if he is, so what?? But his music is grand, talented guy Darren is.
I heard Sony is releasing a Savage Garden hits collection, wonder when that is coming out??
Stormkeeper said on April 30, 2003 04:33:
Greatest Hits after 2 albums?! cool, eh...
He recently moved to San Francisco - gay capital of the world lol
Not my business of course.
Stormkeeper said on April 30, 2003 04:37:
I remember how British Q magazine called SG “Australian Duran Duran - or Roxette”.
:D agree :D
powerpoplarry said on April 30, 2003 05:04:
Yeps, cool, and yes, SG broke up, so Sony is releasing a hits collection. Maybe they will add some Darren solo singles??
Jackie_Radiorox said on May 3, 2003 02:08:
I heard that supossedly Darren wrote one of the songs on the album about Daniel (Heartattack was the track I belive, even though it sounds like he broke up with a lover).... supposedly there was also some sort of clause in their contract that if they were to break up (sounds like a marriage heh!) that they couldn’t bad mouth eachother publicly.
coyboyusa said on May 3, 2003 12:34:
there we rumours circualting for some thime that SG broke up cause darren and daniel had missf about his sexuality and the direction their career was taking. darren has said in interviews while promoting his solo album that the execs at sony wanted him to restrain his voice and not be political about anyhting...they wanted to manipulate his image for his solo album...he wouldn’t let them in some ways good for him but in other ways it killed him here in the states.
it would be great to have an out pop star for this generation who isn’t being picked up for exposing himself in bathrooms to cops and stuff. my parents generation had elton john we need someoen ” normal” like darren
coyboyusa said on May 3, 2003 22:54:
well i believe he is indeed gay..not int he i just hope he’s gay cause he’s cute thing that alot of gay peopel go through. I just really think all his mannerisms, language, choice of residences point to the truth
powerpoplarry said on May 4, 2003 05:16:
Well, he sure acted like it, that he is gay, at that SG concert I attended. Not a bad thing, that he is, but if he is out, he shouldn’t hide it or cover it up. It seems like he’s covering it up, in interviews and stuff before his solo record was released, as well in promo shots. This is what confused me, if he was or not, but it shouldn’t matter cuz his music is great, nonetheless.
Stormkeeper said on May 4, 2003 08:15:
He shouldn´t worry too much about his reputation and career.
Look at George Michael! His hit collection did very well! Gays are not freaks anymore! It´s not 80s anymore!
Stormkeeper said on May 4, 2003 08:17:
Darren if youre reading this don´t hesitate to contact me anytime baby ;D hi hi
Ally87 said on April 24, 2003 20:28:
umm i love it but its nothing like savage garden... it’s seriously lacking without daniel’s guitars... :(
