what you want from the next roxette future album ?
rox-kuryliw said on April 18, 2003 10:25:
i was thinking , if roxette had to do a new album next year , what would you like to see on it style wise.
I want the biggest bad Power ballads, 80’s power. no easy safe songs.
I want fast guitars with power chords, with some screaming vocals.
a brilliant cover design with an amazing sexy marie, showing that she still cuts it with the best .(showing abit of clevage lol) done by jonas .
videos shoot like LTYH / dangerous as a double a side for first single. billboard posters tv ads the lot . on last push .
THEY HAVE LOADS OF TIME TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN NEXT COUPLE OF YEARS.
Pascal said on April 18, 2003 11:10:
They DON’T have to do another album like Room Service. Anything else is OK.
I prefer the TWATG and HAND style.
daniel_alv said on April 18, 2003 11:35:
i want songs like ON, Sleeping in My car, Listen to your heart and FLAF....
Alfonsette said on April 18, 2003 11:46:
Just a mix of the good dongs from HAND and CBB...
Energetic songs like:
Sleeping in my car
Stars
Opportunity nox
Fireworks
She doesn’t live here anymore
Crush on you
7twenty7
New style ballads like:
Wish I could fly
Salvation
Anyone
My world my love my life
But “NO” slow pop tunes like:
Looking for Jane
Run to you
It will take a long long time
Staring at the ground
Little girl
Waiting for the rain

i want power ballads... songs that i can feel r been sung with huge emotion like ltyh
an songs like sleeping in my car.... more uptempo songs with marie on lead for a change....
rox-kuryliw said on April 18, 2003 12:05:
SO PER / MARIE IF YOU READ THIS , TAKE NOTICE , room service was just a roxette album not a classic roxette album.
daniel_alv said on April 18, 2003 12:23:
i think they should let Clarence make the producing him self, without per or marie....
daniel_alv said on April 18, 2003 12:24:
and they shoudl both sing in atleast 50% of the songs.... and one ballad with marie and one with per...
not to many ballads, but the ones that are shoudl really be great....
Ferdan said on April 18, 2003 12:35:
yehh,
I want a CLARENCE only production....
it´d be great to see Anders agains but it’s not likely to happen :(
I don’t want Shoting star in the programming.
And i want “honest” songs, like LMS
Ferdan said on April 18, 2003 12:38:
oh
and focusing on harmony and melodic arrangements to fill up the songs, and not filled up songs with “little sounds, noises, nonsense synths”
Stormkeeper said on April 18, 2003 12:46:
Max Martin as a producer would be a smart career move for Roxette
Stormkeeper said on April 18, 2003 12:48:
Max Martin, Desmond Child and Per Gessle as song-writers and producers; something for everyone?
*dream team*
llounge said on April 18, 2003 13:35:
I want a mix from gyllene tider style and roxette in the 80s. Songs like She doesn‘t live here anymore, Neverending love, Dangerous etc.
daniel_alv said on April 18, 2003 17:38:
NO, not Max Martin!!! Clarence have made a great job so far, don’t fire him....
and i think roxette should continue writing their own songs, so no max martin there either.....
ChrisWilliams said on April 18, 2003 17:50:
Well, I loved Room Service. Whereas some of the older Roxette songs are starting to sound dated (or, as Marie termed Listen To Your Heart, “dusty”), I don’t think tracks like It Takes You No Time To Get Here or Milk And Toast And Honey will ever sound odd.
They can’t stay in the past forever - Power ballads have evolved, just as has Roxette. And that’s why I love them.
ChrisWilliams said on April 18, 2003 17:52:
“Well, I loved Room Service...”
I still love it, as you can tell :-)
Roxreporter said on April 18, 2003 20:16:
Yeah, I agree, The CBB sound was Rox at its best.
Harleys and Indians, Fireworks, Lies, Run To You, ILTSOCG, these are real Roxette songs. Compared to these ones, dancy songs like “Stars” an MMHGP become wussy’s. CBB rules !!!!!!
rox-kuryliw said on April 18, 2003 21:36:
hy chris w. roxette said that room service was to be a classic roxette album. roxette are power ballads and pwer pop, they just dont know it yet . you put LTYH next to MATAH its nice, but LTYH stands so much better out, even in 2003 . classic!!
i personnaly think ’anyone’ is up there as well. become a fan classic as said in TBH booklet.
s-czopek said on April 18, 2003 21:57:
I doubt it will ever happen but I’d like to hear a Roxette album dominated by Marie’s compositions (Per could still write some tunes + most of the lyrics anyway...).
I wonder what kind of mood that album would be in ?
Also, I think it would be nice to hear Per sing a Marie-written song !
Don’t you agree ?
rox-kuryliw said on April 18, 2003 22:10:
i totally agree. i would love to hear a solo english album more though.
coyboyusa said on April 18, 2003 22:11:
GOD NO MAX MARTIN HE SUCKS!
Guitars, the old band back or as many as you can get, female backup singer, more guitars, no shooting star I like roni lhati’s work on cbb and some of rs bring hime back
Stormkeeper said on April 18, 2003 22:39:
santi @ lol you never know when you are serious and when not... :))
daniel_alv said on April 19, 2003 00:09:
i think marie writes to slow songs to be rox songs.... her solowork is fantastic... but i think the if she makes rox material she should write the lyrics and gessle the music....
powerpoplarry said on April 19, 2003 08:49:
Ok, the next Rox album would be in the vein of TWATG, ON, SDLHA, JA, Jefferson, LFJ, RS, Fingertips’93, REAL powerpop!! Per singing all the songs, Marie ONLY on occasional harmony, rocking guitars, raw production, ZERO radio-friendly slickness, ZERO ballads (1 or 2 would be OK, but only in the vein of slower rockers like LFJ). Per producing the whole shebang, it would actually be a Per solo album under the Rox name. And evolution, while remaining tuneful, and loud. All loud guitars, only a handful of keyboard effects, str8 outta the garage!! THAT would be ace!! NO outsiders, NO bad producers!! The only interesting outside producer would be Lindsay Buckingham from Fleetwood Mac, as he is a producer with a real powerpop mind, and creative in sonic architecture, offbeat + quirky, NOT cliched or bland...if not him, NO ONE else but Per + Clarence, Mats, and Michael Ilbert, as this is the only team best at translating Per’s own ideas from his head into the studio and into his genius powerpop tunage...
LoneGunman said on April 19, 2003 08:55:
Hej
First of all - No more eletronic beats... bring back the real drums !!
Second - More uptempo songs with lots of guitars sounds on it...
Third - A few acoustic ballads (at least one sung by Per - something like Bla Bla Bla Bla Bla) and others sung by Marie (but more like power ballad stile)
A new album in 2004, 15 songs, 5 singles and PLEASE, at least one video directed by Michael Geoghgan (this director made great videos for Roxette), the production should be like in CBB album !! After all a ENERGETIC album, like TWATG.
It’s my dream !!
All the best

Although i know that it won‘t happen, i‘d like to have the next album produced by Robert John “Mutt” Lange!
boykie19 said on April 20, 2003 12:34:
nah that mutt guy can stay away from roxette... imagine he gives roxette a song like shania’s ka ching... that would surely be the end of roxette!
per sining most songs on a roxette album?? taht would be dissapointing.... marie is the voice of roxette... if that would have 2 happen.. i think it would be my least fav roxette album... no offence 2 per...
Santi said on April 20, 2003 21:34:
I was not kidding at all :D:p
I like a lot the old good songs, I mean, the are & will be my fav for a lot of time... (I guess), but musicians and artists have this thing that they think they “need to change”. So, ok, let’s accept artists as they are.
However, if they need to change, why they have to do it in the worst way possible, I mean, selling themselves off to dance music? Dance music, we all know, is made and can be made by non-musicians cuz it doesn’t need even to play an instrument and is ok as well.
If they really want to do new things and try themselves why dance? Why not grab a guitar go and call BB King and try some Delta Blues. Why not mixing hindi things like the beatles? Why not some Scandinavian folk harmonies (like they actually did in the song “I remember you”)? Why not Celtic music?
WHY NOT REAL MUSIC? Even classical music would be better, that’s why modern classical music (for me New Age) would be a great choice. It’s more original than anything, more complex than anything.
Every pop artist can do quite well Dance music, everybody does it in fact... how many shift to New Age? Aren’t Roxette good enough for that... maybe that’s what they’d want to know, how good they are...

*Grabs her Telecaster and rocks out*
Start with a healthy portion of Look Sharp!, Sprinkle a little Crash! Boom! Bang!, mix in some Joyride with some accent of TWATG, bring to a nice puree and serve. ;) (And if they happen to fall in your Roxette cocktail, scrape out the electronic drums and dance beats!)
Burke said on April 21, 2003 07:13:
I want an album that sounds up to scratch - I definitely don’t want them to repeat their old ideas, to imitate their own old sound.
Mind you, sounding up to scratch does not necessarily mean more electronica influenced sounds (though I would like it) - it can also mean going back to a more acousticcally informed style (eg Beth Gibbons/Rustin Man - Out of season).
And - please - more contributions by Marie!
boykie19 said on April 21, 2003 09:59:
how about sum more duets?? like paint, dangerous, the big l
an LESS BALLADS PLS!!

more guitars, less ballads and simple joyride-like melodies.
Sascha said on April 22, 2003 07:07:
- First, I would love a soundtrack single before an album pops out, to get worldwide attention again
- Many shared vocals by both
- More bombastic sound again after all the light ballads
- Several Marie- or co-written songs, first Marie-single ever
- Album a bit longer, 14 or 15 songs
- Combination between real instruments and Anders-style programming
- Videos by different directors
- World Tour with less concerts in Germany
But I’m glad with everything they come out with!
rox-kuryliw said on April 23, 2003 10:56:
i want the album longer aswell. Think they should also forget the american market aswell. and focus on the european market and tour europe more.
mon-ami said on April 23, 2003 19:25:
HEY DEAR FRIENDS!!
GUESS I THINK THE SAME AS U - NO ELECTRONIC STUFF , AND JONAS ISSACSON - TO BE DOMINANTIC WITH A GREAT SOLO AND CHORDS STUFF LIKE HE REALLY KNOWS. MORE POWERFULL WORDS AND VOICES. IN A SHORT MEANING - BRING BACK THE 80´ 90´ POP STYLE.
gessleism said on April 24, 2003 10:35:
I want the up-to-date beat of:
OPPORTUNITY NOX
The power guitars of:
SHE DOESN´T LIVE...
SLEEPING IN MY CAR
OPPORTUNITY NOX
Sweet ballads( not too much) like:
A THING ABOUT YOU
MILK AND TOAST AND HONEY
but also, powerful ballads like
SPENDING MY TIME
FADING LIKE A FLOWER
And overall, I WANT MORE UPTEMPO SONGS THAN BALLADS... 75% - 80 % OF POWER SONGS, 15% - 20% OF BALLADS
I don´t want another HAND (no guitars, all ballads... No way, please)
animalkingdom said on April 18, 2003 10:31:
I want more electricity and year 2004...I do NOT want them to go back in time: fresh ideas, new studio technics & probably an outsider as a producer.
