The most expensive video
mimi said on April 15, 2003 13:18:
I wonder which rox-video was the most expensive. Hmmmm... Real Sugar, TCOTH???????????????
Th_Th said on April 15, 2003 14:06:
It was TCOTH, P&M said, it was more expensive than Spending my time.
daniel_alv said on April 16, 2003 00:22:
according to the text on roxette.se that was created after RS the second is SMT
Ferdan said on April 16, 2003 00:33:
coyboy, stop making up things!!!
how you dare to say imbl could be more exensive than Fireworks for example... or than Queen of rain... or Joyride, or Fading like a flower.
IMBL is a studio only video... and the others are studio/exterior videos.... just with the fact that a video is shot in exteriors makes it more expensive than a studio one (without fx)
the only way a studio video gets to be more expensive is when they have lots of fx

I’m with Ferdan, stop it coy!! Actually, I don’t care what the most expensive video is BECAUSE low-budget videos are always better!! They’re a lot more fun and creative, as you make the most about the money you actually have and get better ideas that way. Even if TCOTH was the most expensive (why?? Didn’t look expensive!!), I’ll go with ON, JA, SDLHA, FW, or RS everytime, as they are much more fun and not cliched. However, some of their more pricey clips I do like are CBB, WICF, Anyone, Salvation, Stars, YDUM. Maybe cuz of the drama and style, not cuz it costs a lot to make it. $$$ doesn’t impress me, it’s what you do with it (usually much less $$$) that impresses me.
yellowtigger said on April 16, 2003 07:24:
...no, no, the most expensive video is “neverending love” first version!! hehehehe.... ;P
I dont know which video is the most expensive, but i really love “SILVER BLUE”. Is a very sweet video and very special for me.
animalkingdom said on April 16, 2003 08:36:
Okay, don’t take ANYTHING coyboy says too seriously: don’t you remember the sales figures he gave a little while ago?
Roxoholic said on April 16, 2003 09:46:
Anyone who knows how much Almost Unreal cost to make? I love this video and with all it´s special effects I think it looks the most expensive.
geytenbeek said on April 16, 2003 14:11:
It was once said the TCOTH was the most in Dollar amount, but before that video was made SMT was the highest in amount. It was also noted that SMT was made 10 years before TCOTH, and if you take the inflation effect out, SMT is still the most expensive. (The purchase power of $1 in 1991 is more than in 2001…)
coyboyusa said on April 17, 2003 10:04:
last time i rember per said that fireworks was filmed with a limited time and budget...in fact the video almost didn’t even get made....cbb was the most expensive behind tcoth because the digital film was accidentally erased once...these were pers exact words..they had to redo most of the video...
coyboyusa said on April 17, 2003 10:08:
you guys have to rember as well that the soundtrack videos they made were paid for mostly by the production studios not under the contract that emi has which per said basically funds the videos independant of roxette finances. As for a video needing fx to be expensive thats not true. I dont rember exactly but it was said renting the space they needed at the madonna inn cost them upwards of about 200,000 a day ...plus liscencing rights to use the images of the hotel in the video etc... almost unreal was groundbreaking but the videos costs were paid for mostly by emi’s movie productions element. SMT was computer effects heavy but not as much as cbb which was filmed ENTIRELY in digital. Who cares if you believe me these are facts some from pers own mouth :)

I said this:
“”IMBL is a studio only video... and the others are studio/exterior videos.... just with the fact that a video is shot in exteriors makes it more expensive than a studio one (without fx)
the only way a studio video gets to be more expensive is when they have lots of fx”“
now think
Is TCOTH a studio video? or exteriors?
It is exterior... so obviously it was going to be expensive.
Now explain to me how a video like It must have been love, recorded in an empty hangar, with cheap fx (high speed camera/image projections) can be more expensive than Fireworks (Exteriors/actors/several stages/cars and bikes) or Fading like a flower (helicopters/exteriors)
coyboyusa said on April 17, 2003 11:45:
tcoth is an interior video it was shot INSIDE the madonna inn..lol sheesh
coyboyusa said on April 17, 2003 11:48:
fireworks and flaf were shot on location in sweden where probably emi negtiated free use of buildings streets etc....besides lets be honest fireworks was filmed on a beach with a technique not that sat all revolutionary....flaf was shot in i think its was quotes as a 2 block region of stockholm...i don’t understand why we care how much the videos cost..we should bicker more about the content. i mean for all the greatness of the song SMT video is bland and i mean they missed monor details like using a prodouce weighing display for a clock, in all i think roxette were misserved by negotiating a contract where basically emi called all the shots on who prodouces the bideos and how much is spent on them
Roxoholic said on April 17, 2003 11:55:
coyboyusa: Fireworks was shot in London (Picadilly Circus), not in Sweden.
coyboyusa said on April 17, 2003 13:08:
oh god it was lol jesus what was the other one shot in sweden around the ccb era? oh vulnerable...either way fireworls was shot with a significantly smaller budget than smt
khowaga said on April 17, 2003 13:24:
Vulnerable was shot in Sydney on the world tour. That leaves Sleeping in My Car and Run to You. (I’m going to go out on a limb and say that Run to You wasn’t shot in Sweden either, since it appears to be a tour video...)
June Afternoon and She Doesn’t Live Here Anymore were both done in Sweden, weren’t they?
Roxoholic said on April 17, 2003 14:21:
And I think Sleeping In My Car was shot in London as well.
Videos that were shot in Sweden include (as far as I know): Listen To Your Heart, Dangerous, Silver Blue, Fading Like A Flower (Every Time You Leave), Spending My Time, The Big Love, Queen Of Rain, Crash Boom Bang, June Afternoon, She Doesn´t Live Here Anymore, Un Dia Sin Ti, Wish I Could Fly, Stars, Real Sugar, Milk And Toast And Honey, A Thing About You. I´m not sure about How Do You Do and Fingertips.
Sascha said on April 17, 2003 14:40:

Sascha: I think the beach scenes in Fireworks were shot at an abandoned RAF base near Bournemouth. I remember reading that somewhere. Anyone know for sure?
animalkingdom said on April 17, 2003 19:50:
“i don’t understand why we care how much the videos cost”/coyboy
Huh? So when you get pushed in the corner you find it all very stupid to even explain...Yeah, yeah...Maybe Mimi & others really care about the costs because they want to discuss it. Get it?
mimi said on April 17, 2003 20:14:
I heard somewhere that REAL SUGAR was also really expensive—-> actually mascots on this video were very expensive :)
Roxoholic said on April 17, 2003 23:10:
