June Afternoon

If EMI plan to release The Pop Hits in the U.K in June.......
Would they consider rereleasing June Afternoon as a single or even just to the radio/TV stations for airplay. I know it has been there before and flopped, but this time it would be the right time of year, it already has a music video - one that hasn’t aged too much (if at all) and it features Per and Marie.
Also, the U.K fans would buy it, fans from all over the world would be buying it instead of the U.K fans possibly buying Op Nox again - even though they have already bought it on import from Germany!
Opportunity Nox, although, a fantastic song has failed to capture the mainstream market in Europe so EMI Uk could try a different marketing angle - using a different song!!!!!!! (June Afternoon)

Well maybe they should! I know it’s already been released - but new tracklisting and artwork could just make it the one to help push the Pop Hits. I am concerned the album will flop.........
Any other suggestions / Ideas??

Yeah, “June Afternoon” could be a cool single to promote “The Pop Hits” in the UK... with some promotion of course!!! - in 1995 EMI released “The Look ’95” as the lead single for “Don’t Bore Us Get To The Chorus”, when it was felt that a famous old song would promote Roxette’s hits in the UK market, so a re-release has been done before - after the relative successes of “The Ballad Hits” and “A Thing About You” in the UK, I can’t see that “Opportunity Nox” will chart at all, in which case maybe it’s not such as crazy idea to try to re-release a single with a fun and relevant theme! - I would love to see “June Afternoon” break the Top 20 in the UK, as it deserved to do so the first time it was released - however, I guess that this is more of a fantasy than a realilty... but we can always dream!!! - best wishes, Rich-UK

Maytbe they could release Little Miss Sorrow and June Afternoon as a double A-side and have Blah... as b-side!

It has already been a single...besides never has been released an old single in a greatest hits cd as a new single... especially when there are new songs on that cd.
:D
