Ferdan: are you serious? would you like to see a roxette song decomposed into all its diferent parts?
ahhh isn’t that a bit “unmusical”? i mean doens’ that take away the true feeling of the WHOLE song!
A songs works a whole not in separate intrumental backing tracks...at least you have good imagination. Don’t take this offensively :)

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz what was that Ferdan having another nightmare? yeah? oh i thought so ...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Ferdan said on April 7, 2003 16:50:
uh, you better start using your brain
Separated music trax:
For learning of people and bands that plays each of those instruments.
To let “amateur” remixers do at last a quality work... and not the crappy remixes they mostly do now (It’s not their fault, they weren’t given the tools to do a good one)
And the funny one, we can hear Per and Marie a capella.
So you can see, this is extremely musical... unless you think encouraging music playing and music producing something not musical....

Being a musician, and wanting to remix other artists’ songs someday, I like the idea. But it will never happen.

“You should start using your brain” ummm interesting i wonder in fact when will you also start using yours as well because I mean how clever can one be about wanting a CD single made of intruments played separetely... ? Only you i guess...
And by the way your GENERALIZED view of “unqualified remixers” is not the same as anyone else’s so don’t try to put your words and thoughts into someone else’s minds only because you said something YOU claim to be totally true...
The advice is given...

I don’t know... to be honest with you I don’t belive that any great musician would bother separeting each intrument track just to fill a cd single release... fans would maybe like it for fun but it’s not something you can take that seriously to do from a musical perspective.
I actually asked some mates of mine who play in bands for quite sometime and they all laughed of that... saying “you had to be really dummy to do that...who would listen to that? people want the whole real thing cause that’s what makes music become real and give that thrill that only a true musician can explain...” Music as a whole not a separate set of intruments recorded separetely to commercial release... I don’t even belive a record company would want that either..
Anyway as a fan it would be at least quite funny to listen to it... who knows maybe you could learn a bit how to play some of the intruments who knows...
And i don’t believe that all remixer around there are unqualified it’s more a question of how good a remix sounds...ex: TCOTH Stonebridge is a bit boring for me but Stars Almighty dub now that one for me is a killer one, groovy, very strong and powerful in sound and rhythm...i played it in some bars and clubs a year ago everybody loved it and yet i had no need to tell it was Roxette’s Stars being played ...the people there just enjoyed and had fun...

Great idea from Ferdan: Accapela...ummm that would be really cool..
Has anyone of you tryed to imagine WICF only with Marie’s vocals and the piano and the string parts..kind of an Adagio version? Would it be so bad?

Yea baby.. me in my car, a bare bassline pumping my brain, me going ecstatic and having a blast *NOT!!*
I don;t think this is a good idea
What are you planning to do Ferdy.. making a remix of your own? Better be careful: Per will sue you!!! :-)
Ferdan said on April 8, 2003 17:35:
roxnox... it is not to fill a CD single... is to provide a tool!... it is not for listening to the “common” fan, it’s a tool for the musicians.
And you don’t think any “great” artist would do it? it has been done by more than 1 great band in their multimedia releases.
So it is not a single for the “average” fan.

So you mean that this tracklist of yours is only for “music learning” and not for a normal commercial release? Umm now i see it the problem was that you weren’t clear for what goals was that tracklist intended to so i ended up missinterpretating it... and maybe there are artists who do that i don’t know any sorry... what groups have you heard that have done such experience i am a bit curious about it....
DaminehGessle said on April 9, 2003 18:09:
Ferdan,
But Roxette doesn’t have that much musical power. I mean what you said is cool but not too much instrumental sound. How could it be decomposed?
Ferdan said on April 9, 2003 19:07:
Roxnox, well I wasn’t talking about a typical “commercial” release.
Anyway, lately we are getting singles with just 2 tracks, so it wouldn’t change so much.
well, the only of those CDs i had in my hands was Soda Stereo (Biggest argentinian band)
It came with a software like a mixer desk, and you could mix each one of the instruments of one or two songs.
Then I heard Pink Floyd did something like that too. But I couldn’t find it... so i can’t confirm it.
Damineh, “”But Roxette doesn’t have that much musical power”“
They had incredible works of production until CBB, believe me it was extremely worth hearing each “drop” of sound in every track.
And about the musical power, Roxette is a band that made a lot of people to be introduced to music, listening and playing....
It’s just a matter of attitude from Roxette’s part to not be taken as “examples” for musicians, as arrangers and stuff. But bare in mind i´m NOT talking about musical complexity :)
and damineh, that’s what make Roxette strong for starters or “newbies”, the simplicity of some of their songs.
