Anyone saw "THE RING"?

So did anyone go see or rent this particular horror film? I went to see it a couple of days ago and still couldn’t sleep very well last night...Usually, I can watch ANYTHING but this movie really made me freak out! That quick memory of the rotten-faced daughter, the mystic video tape and girl coming out of the well...It was a good movie, very well made but real poison to my mind! :(

I saw it at the cinema when it came out in Feb. It was excellent and as it is years sinice I saw the Japanese one I would really like to buy it to compare the two. But your right it was one of the best scary films around!

Well, I rented the DVD as well, out of curiosity, as the preview looked cool. It WAS a cool film, and it really got under my skin. I didn’t find it TOO scary, but it was definitely a nailbiter of a suspense thriller, pretty original too. I know it is identical to the Japanese original “Ringu”. Yep, the part when Sumara walked out of the TV freaked me out too, and based on the way the film ended, I yelled “SEQUEL!!” cuz it was totally open-ended. I will definitely buy “The Ring” DVD and maybe “Ringu” too.
Another cool original suspense/horror movie I recommend is “Ghost Ship”, I really enjoyed THAT film!! And I just saw “Phone Booth” in the theater tonight, another nailbiter and very well done.

@ Santi
Yeah, I kinda knew it :) Anyway, where on earth do you dig out those old threads? There’s no search page or anything so...you’re just going through all the old posts or what?

I remembered. If you know a sentence and user of any thread here you can find it adding to it “dailyroxette” in http://www.google.com/

I saw this movie at the theater and I couldn’t sleep that night. It was a scary movie and well made. I don’t think I want to see it again. Once is enough for me. :)

true...weak and boring
I almost fell asleep...LMAO
BTW, Does anyone of any scary horror movies cause they are all starting to look like comedies
Denstandigaresan said on April 14, 2003 23:50:
@fireworks. ’The Entity’. It’s quite a few years old. But if you find that funny...! :-O ONLY film I cannot watch.
Modern films are more like comedies, as the horror aspect has become too ’hollywoodfied’.
I prefer the suspense of a film, to the blood, guts and all they shove in them nowadays.

The Entity? Never heard of it...After seeing The Ring maybe I should stay far away from that one!
Denstandigaresan said on April 15, 2003 22:09:
@animal: It’s based on a true story! Darn scary. Ok, some bits are silly... but considering it’s suppose to be true, that’s why I guess. Not OTT.
fireworks said on April 16, 2003 15:04:
@Denstandigaresan: thanks, I’ll take a look at it...the element of it being true (closer to reality) makes it more believable and less comedic
Denstandigaresan said on April 16, 2003 18:45:
@fireworks: Review of it. Based on a true story, this terrifying tale of demonic possession stars Barbara Hershey as a young woman who finds her body and soul assaulted by a demon from the realms of the subconscious.
There is another film I can’t watch, but cannot for the life of me remember what it’s called!

I’ve just seen it! and LOVE it very much! the best part is when Samara comes out of the TV. after that I didn’t turn my light off when I went to bed. Her face still on my mind. oh, well... it’s midnight here, I hope I could make it home.

Really?? I saw it in the cinema. I loved the film, but the ONLY part I found scary was when Samara comes out of the telly!!
I have it on DVD now. VERY cool film!
