can you tell me, please .
Ferdan said on March 29, 2003 13:53:
oh, tell me what does exactly say about it...
i only found this comments
“Little Miss Sorrow
Recorded for “Have A Nice Day” in 1998, but left off the album due to...whatever. Wax in the ears, maybe. It was something about the tempo that didn’t feel right the first time. But a replay during the research for this album immediately got the Rox headquarters up on its feet. A few quick fixes in the studio, and smiles were put on everybody’s faces. Who the sad girl is? Well, a Herman’s Hermits song with the same name endeared a very young Per Gessle in the 60’s. “One day I’m going to write a song with a title like that”, he said. And after some 30 years, he did... “

Well, read the biography in the booklet.
The last part says:
“Which brings us to 2003 and the two new songs on this collection: Opportunity Nox and “Little Miss Sorrow”, both featuring high-pitched vocals from Per, both possible contenders for charts around the world. The beat goes on.”
”...possible contenders for charts around the world...”.... that sounds like LMS is gonna be a single IMHO.
javi said on March 29, 2003 14:04:
I hope so, but that was the same idea about” I dont want to get hurt” and finally it was only a promo single in Brazil.
Pascal said on March 29, 2003 14:07:
Little Miss Sorrow SHOULD BE a single!
And please let Wayne Isham direct the videoclip!
Santi said on March 29, 2003 14:26:
In case it’s a single I think the video should be animation, or with actors.
vaxjoe said on March 29, 2003 14:28:
NO! No more animations :((( It should be with Marie and Per plus some ppl. With a storyline...probably filmed in the country
Jackeill said on March 29, 2003 14:38:
it should be but it won’t. it should have been first single, instead of on...
boykie19 said on March 29, 2003 15:09:
it wont be a single... its just been described that both songs r of good quality an can be released as singles.... if they release little miss sorrow.. then there is nuthing special left on the pop hits... so it would be kinda dumb 2 release it as a single... ;) plus do u reallly think a song like this would top the charts?? i really dont.. yea sure its a gr8 song.. but not a song topping the charts....
gyllene_tjej said on March 29, 2003 15:24:
Oh my PLEASE!!! that would be so cool! a good video would promote it a lot...a video with a story in it...but NOT animated, I think...

@vaxjoe:
Wayne Isham works for the production company A Band Apart (http://www.abandapart.com). He did Spending My Time, Church Of Your Heart and Do You Get Excited? for Roxette. He also did a lot of clips for Bon Jovi, Ricky Martin, Metallica, ’n Sync, etc...
You can see a videography of him at: http://www.mvdbase.com/director/I/wisha.htm
Marie and Per don’t have to be in the clip.
@boykie19:
Opportunity Nox is one of Roxette’s biggest flops. That song is too ’simple’, too ’easy’ to become a hit nowadays. Little Miss Sorrow is much more ’alternative’ and that’s something music channels are looking for.
vaxjoe said on March 29, 2003 15:39:
Wow he did Janet Jacksons BLACK CAT
Metallicas ENTER SANDMAN+UNFORGIVEN
And all Nsyncs videos from the No Strings Attached cd plus Pop
I love all those videos! :D
also i agree about the whole “alternative” thing u said. Alternative is the magic word nowadays ;)
Pascal said on March 29, 2003 16:17:
Music channels want to hear festival music from non-UK/USA artists nowadays. And Opportunity Nox is not festival music. It’s too simple and cheap to get bought by the ’mass’. It could have worked in the eighties and the nineties, but not in 2003. Remember, the hardcore Roxette fans don’t make the charts!
Little Miss Sorrow has much more hit potential. I’m convinced that the ’mass’ (non-hardcore Roxette fans) like the song much more than Opportunity Nox. Reasons:
- LMS has a more complicated structure than ON
- LMS is more ’alternative’ than ON
- LMS lyrics are much better than those of ON
marcusvandeursen said on March 30, 2003 01:00:
...the short way... LMS beats ON on many front...
also I guess a video should NOT be directed by dear old Jonas yet again... no childs’ party animations either... although the video to STARS was not everyone’s favourite I still consider it one of Roxette’s best.., mainly because it was filmed more realistic and has a great storyline with still some humour in its as well. Would personally suggest the guy who directed David Charvet’s latest video for ’TAKE YOU THERE’ ...whoever the director is

LET MARIE AND PER HAVE A BREAK ON THEIR CAREEAR AND STOP WITH THAT SILLY HUNGER FOR HIT SINGLES!
What is your problem with it? To ashame to see roxette on the charts today? Who cares about that?
How important can a #1 hit be today? To become a hit wonder next? I though we all loved the SAME music for what it is not for how high it reaches the charts or sales.... jesus where is the passion for music now in all of us nowhere?????
Rox_Nox2003 said on March 30, 2003 13:20:
DC is right in one thing: if Per and Marie are not feeling this is a right time to release new singles then it doesn’t make much sence to me at least to work on them with videos and radio stuff when the band itself is focusing on much more urgent issues like Marie’s health right now... if they don’t feel like it so we shoudnt be asking nor suggesting anything at all...
But on the other Pascal isn’t the only one who would like to see a new single. Even I would love to see “Breathe” being released I mean we love their music and we believe in its potential...
However with Marie still recovering and Per a bit sad with her state and not feeling happy with doing promos on his own ... i understand i just could not cope with releasing more songs and singles when the moment is not the right one and the spirits are on low! Don’t you agree with is a bit a least?
javi said on April 2, 2003 18:34:
We can live without a new single, it´s true, but I think a new single is not a crime, I can´t hear them on tv or radio because there is no promo, but if a new song is sounding they are there I love when I hear roxette´s song on tv and radio and it´s only possible with singles (not always but quasi). That´s why I want a new single. I need roxette songs when I drive, when I´m in a pub, ...

IT HAST TO BE A RADIO-SINGLE AT LEAST!
opportunity nox isn’t in single-charts, radios don’t play ON and can anyone tell me, how THE POP HITS should be sold without new stuff on radio?? so LMS has to be a single (but as someone said before, with a differet/shorter ending – this “whats going on”-phrase over and over goes on my nerves...

Marcus I agree with you, Stars was a great video. Anton Corbijn is a great director! Look what he did with Depeche Mode...

Um, ya know, a song doesn’t HAVE to be a single to be played on the radio. They should just take TPH, cue it up to LMS and play it!! Simple as that, and how it is in the US, where radio plays mostly album tracks, and those album tracks are called “singles” whether a promo is actually issued or not.
Sure, it would be nice to have a Rox song be a hit, but why risk overkill to make it a hit?? Then comes oversaturation, overexposure. It’s BETTER if the Rox tunes are not HUGE, ie watered down for the masses, just some airplay and make the charts that way, low, mid or high, whatever...
Um, so the SIMPLENESS of ON is why it didn’t click?? Well, that’s how the best powerpop tunes are, SIMPLE, catchy and direct. What’s wrong with that?? Too obvious?? Well, duh!! It’s SUPPOSED to be a hit, as all powerpop tunes are made to be obvious hits. Sooo, what’s the problem?? Like, it’s so ironic that a great tune like ON is made to be a hit and flops. I guess radio doesn’t like to be told what will be a hit, so they make the rules?? I don’t get it!!
Sooooo...”Come Undone” is the 2nd Robbie single off “Escapology” then?? When will the single be released, and are the B’s going to be “You Get Me High” and “Beautiful Day”??

Well, album cuts simply don’t exist here in Germany (and most of Europe, too, I think)! If a song’s to be played on the radio regularly it has to be a commercially released single...
(BTW, unlike the Billboard Charts, charts here are only based on sales and not airplay)

Yes, it’s the second single - it was released in Austria, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Portugal, Spain, Sweden & Switzerland on monday, the b-side’s called “One fine day” (also featured on the US album).
