I read in HMV Canada site that the single would be released in Canada on March 10th. I went to HMV in Vancouver today as I was to leave the city for Victoria and ofcourse HMV in Victoria is far from me. Anyways, I asked the guy about the single when I couldn’t find it in the racks. After searching his computer for quite a while, he told me they had not ordered any of the single as there are no requests for it. Then I asked him to check if there are any HMVs that might have it for me to pick up. They searched for every single HMV in Canada and guess what?? None of them had ordered the CD! Not even 1 copy was ordered in Canada! Then the guy asked me whether I wanted the CD to be ordered from Germany which would take about 4 to 8 weeks! I told him “No thanks! I hate North America!” and I left. What is with not ordering the singles???

Why WOULD they order the single is a better question... EMI Canada hasn’t manufactured and released a Roxette single here since “Sleeping In My Car” in 1994 (the “WICF” promo you got for free from HMV doesn’t count as it was for promotional purposes only, not retail)... importing singles is expensive, if I was running a record store I would only order in those that were specially requested!

I would buy the single. Why not? I love the remixes they have on singles or rare songs. Not 1 copy of the single has been ordered. Couldn’t they possibly order at least 10 for those who wanted it?

@Damineh: No, you’re definitely right about “TBH”... no excuse for that, it had a proper, official Canadian release and you can’t buy an album that isn’t in the stores! But singles are different... I would fall over dead if I walked into my HMV and found a Roxette CD single... they only have “DBU-GTTC!” at the one near my school! By the way, it sucks to hear that Vancouver is so Roxette-less... I’m moving there in a few months!!! (Although I know the city is WONDERFUL in so many other ways... (: ).

There was this broken DBUGTTC at HMV for oh Lord so many years. Thanks God there is one TBH sitting in front of it these days. And yes I’ve marked it for a later follow-up :D.
i wish I could walk into a CD store in Vancouver one day and see Roxette posters on the side. Jeez! How do they expect to sell CDs in here??
Welcome to West Coast. I love Vancouver. Actually, I have been living in Victoria for 2.5 years now and I adore Victoria. After living in Victoria, I can’t stand Vancouver for long when I go back to see my family. But yeah welcome to Beautiful British Columbia :D.

Hey Damineh, I checked all the large stores in downtown Toronto hopin’ to find an imported ON single or TPH CD - checked Sam’s, 2 HMVs, Tower Records, Record World - couldn’t find either. Although Sam the Record Man did have TBH, RS, HAND and some of Marie’s older solo albums which caught my interest :0). Other than that - very disappointing, looks like things are not the much better Roxette wise here in TO. Guess I’ll order mine online. Thanks for making the suggestion anyhow.

I got my TPH yesterday. I haven’t seen it yet as it’s arrived at my parents’ place. At least I know i have it now. Yey! Don’d have ON and ATAY yet though :(.
