Okay people from the meet and greet....
i know a lot of people that love roxette to death, and would do anything to meet them...
But if you had a chance to meet them... why woulndt you hug them????
like for example.. the girl with the yellow pants on the magazine...”oh my god they thouched me”

Man... Im brazilian.. and i know we brazilian people are very warm and friendly people..
but was i the ONLY one to HUG THEM??????
Man.. i felt so comfortable with them... taking pictures...laughing with them... asking questions... I asked Per:
“Can i give you a hug”
and he said:
“Off course!! Bring on the hug!!!”
“can i hug you too marie??”
“yes”
I mean...that wanst hard... and not disrespectful..
Are hugs supposed to be rude or something???
why it looks like iwas the only one...

Well, I don’t think you are the only one. I did that too. I hugged Per in 2001 and that was the only time I dared to do it. Like you I also aasked Per “Can I hug you?” It is a BIG thing to do as you never know how comfortable they are with such suggestion. But mostly, what I found stressful was the impact such hug could have on me, knowing how special Gessle is to me. And I was right, because the nearness and the scent combined are owerwhelming you, sweeping you off your feet sort of.
The more attached you are to your idol the stronger effect a hug has, I suppose :) I haven’t done it more the following years being too shy and paralysed.

The Meet & Greet was a contest the FC arranged during the Room Service tour in 2001. The winners of the contest got to meet Per & Marie just before the concert. I think it was 2-4 people at every concert, right?
Anyway, it’s history now...

As for hugging Per and/or Marie... Sure, I’d love to dare to do that. But I just can’t get myself to ask for it. I mean... it seems a little bit to familiar to me. I suppose I belong to the group that walks around on a cloud of happiness if I just get to see Per or Marie. And that one time I got to shake Pers hand... well.. I get i stupid smile on my face even today, one year later.
So... you be happy that you dare to ask for something like that, but don’t think less of those who are not as daring as you.

It’s surprising how you act! I was not at all nervous! And I am a VERY nervous person! I politely asked Per and Marie if they would sign stuff etc. :)
The last time I met them in 2001, I asked Per first as Marie was talking to Marie Dimberg, he turned around and was like “Oh it’s the London girls”(He recognised my friend and I from a couple years earlier, as he called us that then too!). Then he was teasing us with like, “Oh I don’t know” ;) Hehe!
When I had my photo took with him, he put his arm around my back... I moved slightly(WHYYYY!!) so he took my hand... but I was hot, and my palms were sweaty, so I let go(WHHHHHHHHYYYY again!), held wrists instead! LOL! Hehe!
One time he took my hand(Capital Cafe) and held on as he walked by! Hehe! Bloody grip he had!
Best one to shake hands with is Pelle Alsing... he shakes like theres no tomorrow! Both hands! Good strong grip... and looks you straight in the eyes! Hehe!

I didn´t hug Per either, just shoke his hand even I wasn´t nervous at all.
I only hug persons I know very well, I never hug a person I don´t know, even if he is lovely and he is Per Gessle.
Maybe I ´d huged him 10 years ago, but not now.
I don´t mean of course, that it´s not o.k. if someone feels for hug Per or someone else, but people are different, and some show her/his respect with a hug, while some with a smile and some nice words .

By the way... i dont know why i want to share this with you guys, But...
When i received the e-mail saying that i was gonna meet them, i replied with an e-mail saying that i was so happy, and thankful for that.
And if i would have a chance to ask them questions and hug them
who ever answered me said:
” Per and Marie are not teddy bears for you to be hugging them....”
I laughted so bad, i thought that was so funny, then i kept reading the e-mail
“...Me and the group are thinking about whether we should put you with them or not”
thats the part where i almost shit on my pants
hehehehehe
But OH WELL at the end... i got to ask question and then... HUG them....
i just coulnd hold myself... =(

I think I would pass out just going to see them in concert (being in the US), much less getting close enough to hug them. I would have to imagine that it would be almost spiritual to me. :)
