Formula 1

Anyone watched it? Coulthard won!!!! Schumacher was just 4th :p
It seems the new rules are really working for Formula 1 to become more spectacular!!! :D
pietROxette said on March 9, 2003 13:56:
Completely different qualifying system, they can’t use two-way telemetry, they can’t change the settings of the car from saturday to sunday and a lot more.
Check www.f1.com for details.
Santi said on March 14, 2003 21:03:
They can’t even put more benzine from the qualifying to the race, so if the choose to get the best time in qualifying with low benzine then they’ll have to stop more times on the race :p
They can’t use different engines as well :p

So it might actualy become a race again rather than who’s got the best car like it has been for the last 5 years ;)
GTiG said on March 16, 2003 23:02:
Yea... me loves formula 1!!!!
And that has ofcurse nothing to do with Per liking it. *smile* I even visited the race in Barcelona back in 2001... it was GREAT!!
Santi said on March 22, 2003 15:54:
Fernando Alonso (the Spanish rookie who is 21 years old!) GOT THE POLE POSITION!!!!!!!! :D GO GO GO!!!!!!!
Santi said on March 23, 2003 09:26:
For the first time ever a Spaniard got into the podium of Formula 1!!!!!!!!!!! :D Fernando Alonso 3rd!!!!
pietROxette said on March 23, 2003 09:39:
He did relly great! Especially regarding that he was quite sick during the race... very well done!
Santi said on March 23, 2003 09:42:
Yeah, 39ºC of fever :S WHen he came out of the car he hardly could walk :s
He’s a hero over here by now! :D And now 3rd also in the championship along with M. Schumacher, R. Schumacher, JP Montoya and some other cracks :p I hope this lasts!
Aaso said on March 23, 2003 09:47:
Why both Schumacher don’t work for one company?? I think Ferrari is better ... :)) Btw the big brother won nearly 60 award and the little brother won almost 10 ..!!!
Santi said on March 23, 2003 09:51:
Because it’s not the drivers that choose the team, but the team that choose the drivers. This leads to things like in Williams, where Ralf Schumacher drives, his “mate” is Juan Pablo Montoya that is the main enemy of both Schumachers... But this is interesting, since it won’t happen that Williams cheats in the races like Ferrari did last year, because since their drivers are the biggest enemies one won’t stop to let the other win a race. By the way, there is a prize in cash now for the one that wins, to avoid this from happening.
Aaso said on March 23, 2003 09:57:
hehe ... I didn’t know the team will choose the driver ... ! intresting :)
I remeber last year that someone asked M. Schumacher about his competitor and he answerd ” the only one I care about is my brother!!”
I don’t think so!!
Santi said on March 23, 2003 10:02:
It’s just like the football. Drivers are some workers of the teams :p
Aaso said on March 23, 2003 10:06:
hey and what about the award.. I mean if they win money ... what will they do with it? the driver or the team??
Santi said on March 23, 2003 10:16:
It’s $1 000 000 for the winner, I think. At least this rule was thought and it was going to be applied, but finally I don’t know if actually works this year :O

I know Michael Schumacher is quite dissliked internatioanly, but fact is, he is just the best driver in the World that Formula 1 has ever seen. I enjoy watching him drive.
Character wise I must say, I prefer Ralf much more to Michael.

dan-rox said on March 27, 2003 16:14:

I wouldn’t be able to go that day cuz I’ll be travelling, sorry.
Santi said on April 1, 2003 19:09:
No, it’s a pleasure travel, Im going to Belgium to visit Wendy :D
Santi said on April 5, 2003 08:59:
Well, next round!! :P And it’s seems it’s gonna be all under the rain. I think Alonso has many chances!!! :D
Santi said on April 5, 2003 19:25:
Well, finally it was not rainy.
Barrichello, Coulthard and WOW!! Mark Webber!! Sounds interesting :)
However fernando Alonso is 10th... we’ll see what he can do :p
Santi said on April 6, 2003 19:51:
Wow, what a race!!! :D:S:)
In the end the overtaking of Fisichella to Raikkonen didn’t serve for anything, whata a pitty, because it was great.
And poor Barrichello... oh, I was just so sad to see that after overtaking Coulthard his car stop running :’(
Well, and after such a crash of Fernando Alonso, he got to be third again!!! And he’s second in the world championship!!!!! WOW!!!!! Get better soon Fernando!!!! ;)
No, I’ve never liked Schumacher, because if someone wins too much happens what had happened to Formula 1, it becomes uninteresting, boring and it’s not a sport anymore, it’s ballet...
Thanks to the new rules you can see an amazing spectacular race like today’s!!
pelu said on April 6, 2003 20:29:
that was a strange race=) too bad that David just came on the fourth place
pietROxette said on April 7, 2003 07:46:
Yea, very very strange race indeed.
I think they should have immediately stopped the race, right when Webber smashed his car and the track became full of ribbish and mud. This way they could have avoided Alonso’s accident.
Also, the quality of the circuit is more than ridiculous. When they were broadcasting the images of cameras inside the cars it was clearly visible that the track was far from slick. Also the fact that there was that huuuuge puddle where most cars left the track makes it questionable that F1 races should be organised on that track.
Santi said on April 13, 2003 09:00:
Cool, now FIA has decided that Fisichella started lap number 56 before Alonso’s accident and then he’s the winner and no Raikkonen! :p
His first win! :)
pietROxette said on March 9, 2003 11:40:
It was a really great race! Very exciting, from the beginning till the end. But I think this was only a kind of “warm-up race”, since all teams and drivers met the new rules for the first time. As we will go on with more races, probably things will get a bit more predictable.
Although Michael Schumacher finished the race only at the 4th position, I don’t think that many others would have been able to go 15 laps with basically half of the car...
