Are there any Proper Album sale figures at all????

Hi there,
this one thing is confusing me a lot, and that is, how many Albums has Roxette sold so far?? For years and years, I have been reading, that Roxette has sold 40 Million Albums. I have been hearing that since Crash Boom Bang times.
But since then, they released the first Greatest Hit which sold about 5 Million. They also released Balladas, another 1 Million. After that came HAND, another 3 Million and Room Service which almost 2 Million sales. Now TBH have sold more than 1 Million copies already, we still hear, that Roxette has sold only 40 Million Albums, how is that possible?? Sure it must be way more than 50 Million?? And with all their singles, haven’t they almost sold 70 Million records alltogether???
I remember a German Radio Station saying in 1995, that Roxette has sold more than 60 Million CD’s during their career so far...
can someone please tell us, what the proper sell figures are???

HAND 4.9 million?
RS 2.3 million ?
Sounds too much...
are u sure about this?
coyboyusa said on February 26, 2003 16:14:
ack tourism was around 4.8 ....
the firues are up and through 2002
the hand figues are correct as are rs
arnie said on February 26, 2003 18:35:
Are you including the re-release of HAND with the 3 spanish tracks?
bunny said on February 26, 2003 20:45:
What about the greatest hits CD released only in Japan called “Greatest”? :-P
Sascha said on February 26, 2003 21:54:
How can RS be included in a ranking from 2000? If these numbers are correct, Roxette’s albums keep selling over the years!
Roxwriter said on February 26, 2003 21:57:
Excuse me but that HAND sales figure is a crock of shit! No way did HAND sell that much!
It barely scraped past the 2 million mark.
cskendras said on February 26, 2003 22:45:
rs sold about 1,5 mio copies world-wide and hand about 2,5 mio as far as i can remember to have read it some weeks ago somewhere
Ferdan said on February 27, 2003 06:38:
yep, he steped on himself with RS in a yr 2000 sale figure. Smart ... *sigh*
bunny said on February 27, 2003 08:00:
here’s my humble theory.
at the time of their appearance at the World Music Awards in 2000, the host announced that they have sold over 40 mil records. So let’s assume that they sold 1 mil more of HAND, 2 mil of RS and 1 mil of TBH, the figure may be close to 45 mil now?
Th_Th said on February 27, 2003 08:39:
So, still no one knows...
I have heard though, that HAND sold 3.5 Million and Room Service way more than 2 Million.
coyboyusa said on February 27, 2003 13:23:
my typos are killing me its 2002
hand was 3.5 million which i believe is also supoorted by the discography book and the japanese hits wasn’t considered a special release..well at least not by emi
animalkingdom said on February 27, 2003 15:42:
Whatever figures EMI may give are for the units which have been ordered from the company - not necessarily sold. Also in my opinion those numbers seem quite too big...
@ Markuz
Have you seen Annie Lennox lately? She looks rather bad! *Laughing out loudly*

##HEAVY SARCASM USED IN THIS POST##
They’re both SICK you moron, you shouldn’t laugh about that!!
roxtexanet said on February 27, 2003 18:54:
@Markuz: What’s wrong with her? I’m sorry to hear that she’s ill if it’s true. I’m looking forward to her new album, I’ve always liked her solo stuff a thousand times better than the Eurythmics’ work.
Markuz said on February 27, 2003 19:05:
@roxtexanet: she is very very thin and looks quite sick, to the point that many newspapers published articles like “Annie Thinnox: A broken diva?”. There were also news reports on TV. Nobody knows what is happening to her, and her management didn’t want to comment on that for the time being.

Again with sales. I only hope that you all know this numbers are never real, but extrapolated from the actual sales of a few stores...
animalkingdom said on February 27, 2003 21:34:
@ Markuz
How do you actually know if she is sick? If there were no reports whatsoever...Anyhow, I ain’t laughing any longer. Sorry :-)
By the way, what if she’s just going on a diet? Some elder ppl like going on a diet without really thinking about the consequences...That’d be positive, wouldn’t it?

Whoopsie, forgot: Marie’s not looking bad anymore. Didn’t you see the pics from the King’s ceremony? By the way, I don’t think any of us saw her looking bad...There were no photos taken of her at those times.
alchemiste said on February 27, 2003 21:39:
In 1995, they said “40 million records” I think, and I guess that included the singles sales. Today they are talking about 40 million albums.
arnie said on February 27, 2003 21:46:
They’ve been talking about 40 million copies since CBB times!! Who knows the real figures?
roxtexanet said on February 27, 2003 22:02:
@Markuz: That sucks... I hope it’s all just tabloid trash, but the fact that her management won’t comment is a little scary. It looks like all of her plans for the new album are still on the go, so that’s a good sign, right?
DaminehGessle said on February 28, 2003 00:08:
Just cause we are in North America. North America sucks when it comes to music. AH!
