Why is nobody talking about the single? It was released yesterday and there’s total silence about it! No excitment at all!?! Did really everybody download the songs and doesn’t care anymore about the actual release? :-(

The copy control technology is ridiculous, when you insert the CD in your computer, its own player starts playing the music in a horrible, 47 kbps quality. But if you simply close that player and open the CD with any other CD-player (such as Windows Media Player, Winamp, Real One, etc), it plays in perfect quality, without any problems. You can also create high quality mp3 files from the CD with CDEX and you can make a copy of it with any CD-writer software (at least with Nero it works fine).

Yes, the release was postphoned for Germany until 10th orf March... FUCK EMI Germany!!!!
Why do we get incomplete CDS (The Balld Hits), why do they postphone the releases, why is there no (or just poor) promotion....?!

Did we get any? Please remember that Germany was the only country to get the stupid version of “The Ballad Hits”... The only promotion they did for TBH were some (brilliant) posters... :-)

They have shown many TV-Spots for The Ballad Hits on German TV. Can’t remember any other CD of any other band with so many commercial TV spots shown

Are these Singles all made in the Same Country, Presumably Holland? You Can tell by looking under the cd it will state the factory:

eg: Uden = Holland
Swindon = UK
etc..

Hmmm...I was planning on buying the CD maxi single from skivhugget.com tonight (since I live in the USA), but after reading about this copy protection, I’m not so sure. :/ I don’t want to waste my money on something from which I cannot rip my own MP3s. Thanks a lot Capitol! *mad*

I’ll also be sure to order my ’The Pop Hits’ from HMV in Canada so I don’t get stuck with the copy protection one from Sweden, although I must say the glossy booklet is really nice!

I don’t see how Germany has got any promotion for Roxette during the last few years. I saw Crash Boom Bang with a big promotion, but after that, nothing happened. In the usually roxette friendly country - Germany, TBH peaked at number 10 for only one week, and if I am not misstaken, TBH left the charts already completely.

When the Room Service album was released, Roxette did several gigs in Germany, including TV appearances, the Cologne showcase, then the Popkom gala, Germany had the most concerts during the Room Service tour. Also the German release of The Ballad Hits had two more songs than the release in most other countries. So you have to believe, promotion is still the strongest in Germany. I didn’t say it’s good enough, but still, it’s the most active there.

In Hungary, where EMI is usually doing horrible, the single was widely available in stores on Monday. It’s the Dutch release, so I doubt it’s not yet released in the Netherlands.
