Nobody bought the single???
tevensso said on February 25, 2003 08:41:
I have bought it, both versions. By the way, the Cactus logo is sticker so you can remove it.
richkoni said on February 25, 2003 09:50:
i am looking for it but i can’t find it in the netherlands... so if someone knows where to buy it here... otherwise i’ll go to cdon.com again like with the ATAY maxi
pietROxette said on February 25, 2003 10:00:
I’ve also bought it yesterday.
The copy control technology is ridiculous, when you insert the CD in your computer, its own player starts playing the music in a horrible, 47 kbps quality. But if you simply close that player and open the CD with any other CD-player (such as Windows Media Player, Winamp, Real One, etc), it plays in perfect quality, without any problems. You can also create high quality mp3 files from the CD with CDEX and you can make a copy of it with any CD-writer software (at least with Nero it works fine).

hey - at least you are not the UK, USA, Oz, South Africa etc etc etc, consider yourself somewhat lucky with EMI Germany!

Haven’t found it yet...:(
Will look for it today, tomorrow,...

Sascha said on February 25, 2003 15:22:
Great! Finally some feedback to the single is swapping in!
Coyboyusa: You’re forgiven as you live in the US! ;-)

Yes, the release was postphoned for Germany until 10th orf March... FUCK EMI Germany!!!!
Why do we get incomplete CDS (The Balld Hits), why do they postphone the releases, why is there no (or just poor) promotion....?!
*Matthias*
japeke said on February 25, 2003 17:35:
How about NL? At music store they said 24th march, the paper (AD) says begin of april.
JoyRidErno said on February 25, 2003 18:22:
I bought it - of course!
And had no problems to encode it to mp3 with 100 % quality.
pietROxette said on February 25, 2003 19:11:
HAH! Promotion in Germany has always been one of the strongest. Most countries didn’t get any bonus material for The Ballad Hits.

>HAH! Promotion in Germany has always been one of the strongest. Most countries didn’t get any bonus material for The Ballad Hits.
Did we get any? Please remember that Germany was the only country to get the stupid version of “The Ballad Hits”... The only promotion they did for TBH were some (brilliant) posters... :-)

I ordered it at the Fanshop, I think I have to wait, but that’s no big deal: there is nothing new on it...
fortuna1895 said on February 25, 2003 23:54:
They have shown many TV-Spots for The Ballad Hits on German TV. Can’t remember any other CD of any other band with so many commercial TV spots shown
ditroia said on February 26, 2003 02:04:
Are these Singles all made in the Same Country, Presumably Holland? You Can tell by looking under the cd it will state the factory:
eg: Uden = Holland
Swindon = UK
etc..

Hmmm...I was planning on buying the CD maxi single from skivhugget.com tonight (since I live in the USA), but after reading about this copy protection, I’m not so sure. :/ I don’t want to waste my money on something from which I cannot rip my own MP3s. Thanks a lot Capitol! *mad*
I’ll also be sure to order my ’The Pop Hits’ from HMV in Canada so I don’t get stuck with the copy protection one from Sweden, although I must say the glossy booklet is really nice!
clerk said on February 26, 2003 07:47:
The dutch recordstore Free Record Shop expects the single to arrive between now and two weeks...
Fame had no info at all... I guess I just have to wait..:(
Th_Th said on February 26, 2003 09:47:
I don’t see how Germany has got any promotion for Roxette during the last few years. I saw Crash Boom Bang with a big promotion, but after that, nothing happened. In the usually roxette friendly country - Germany, TBH peaked at number 10 for only one week, and if I am not misstaken, TBH left the charts already completely.
Th_Th said on February 26, 2003 09:48:
Forgot one thing though,
I will have it shipped to me by some German friends, as Ireland is not getting anything at all, we didn’t even get ATAY!!!
pietROxette said on February 26, 2003 10:00:
Still, it’s Germany that always has the most promotion. You guys have to imagine that in other countries there’s even less.
When the Room Service album was released, Roxette did several gigs in Germany, including TV appearances, the Cologne showcase, then the Popkom gala, Germany had the most concerts during the Room Service tour. Also the German release of The Ballad Hits had two more songs than the release in most other countries. So you have to believe, promotion is still the strongest in Germany. I didn’t say it’s good enough, but still, it’s the most active there.
harriej said on February 26, 2003 19:20:
It is not yet released in NL, so how could I have bought it?
sweepi said on February 27, 2003 00:28:
Here (Portugal) ON’s release didn’t happen last Monday either. The single shall come out on the next, 3rd March, so it seems...
bunny said on February 27, 2003 00:35:
On amazon.com, ON was ranked 1700-something an hour ago. That’s a pretty damn good ranking for a single given the lack of publicity of ON so far.
cocos1972 said on February 27, 2003 08:06:
I live in Spain and bought it in tuesday in an ordinary outlet. I was very surprised cause Roxette singles are not frequently released here.
pietROxette said on February 27, 2003 08:13:
In Hungary, where EMI is usually doing horrible, the single was widely available in stores on Monday. It’s the Dutch release, so I doubt it’s not yet released in the Netherlands.
Starrox said on February 27, 2003 16:08:
Why that? Most of the EMI CDs are made in the Netherlands (Uden, to be precise), no matter if they are released there or not...
Sascha said on February 25, 2003 08:25:
Why is nobody talking about the single? It was released yesterday and there’s total silence about it! No excitment at all!?! Did really everybody download the songs and doesn’t care anymore about the actual release? :-(
PS. Living in Germany, I’m waiting for March 10.
