ON cd's... Full of pop corn!

I’ve just got my hands on the new single... And I can finally see the cd. It is completely full of pop corn, does can anybody tell me if the promo is also like this? By the way this is also a “copy controlled” cd... And this again can anyway be played with Mediaplayer and WinAmp and of course can tracks can be easily extracted with Nero (and I guess other programs...). So do you know why they call it “copy protected or controlled”??? The only thing that change from regular cds is the BAD SOUND QUALITY!!!

Yes the cd is in the stores since 21 (Emi always send news on Friday when they suppose to come out on Monday...).
Even if the cd is “copy protected, you can anyway extract the tracks...
The sound quality is poor, that’s it. As all of this kind of cds. Unfortunately.

They (record companies) will notice the sells going down ’cos of the quality of those CDs.... they will stop using them sooner or later.
Schmetterling said on February 23, 2003 12:26:
Point is: I can only play them in my old CD player..wich is going to give up any second. Cause I can’t play them in my computer wich I usually use to play music. And I can’t take it to my boyfriend because he only has a CD player in the computer. :-(((

@Schmetterling: Use the “CD-EX” software to extract songs in perfect quality.

I managed to burn THE BALLAD HITS just with the Windows-Media-Player on Windows XP professional!
I got a new computer last week and I was trying out some things! It was very easy!!! Because I have no “REAL” burning-programm at the moment and I wanted to test my new burner, so I tried this! I was really surprised that it was so EASY! That says a lot about this COPY PROTECTION!!!
UPDATE: Well it wasn’t that easy, though! I listened with headphones to the copy and found out, that the songs sound slightly “metallic”! Then this Copy Protection is maybe not totally rubbish! But with the right burning-programm you can fix such problems!
My opinion is: To avoid CD-ripping the record companies should make the CDs cheaper! Why should somebody buy an expensive CD of an artist he/she’s no fan of, when he/she can download it somewhere? But if the CDs were cheaper only few people would make the effort of DOWNLOADING and buy the REAL CD with the booklet...! It’s just a matter of time, when the next copy protection is gonna be cracked!
That’s about all folks - cheers!

The sleeve is outlined with popcorn, but the label is a bowl of popcorn, on both records.

are they copy protecting singles aswell now? that will make single sales drop even lower, why buy sommit you can’t play or can’t listen to coz the sound quality is crap.
anyway.....i agree with biglittlegirl, make the cds cheaper and less ppls would wanna copy them, simple really, but its money that makes the world go round.
Susi said on February 24, 2003 19:37:
Yep, both the CD-single and the Maxi-CD are copy protected... stupid...
daniel_alv said on February 24, 2003 20:50:
i think the single is great... it’s a very good artwork.... i got a maxi single for the same price as the 2trk... but now i have to buy ATAY in maxi to, or buy a twotrk of ON.... i have WICF to MATAH all 7 in 2trk.... so maybe i should countinue 2trks.... can’t deside....
i also got the i wann be your boyfriend single in 2trk...

@ daniel_alv
so you don’t have the maxis? oh boy, how can u live without all those goodie tracks? :)
daniel_alv said on February 24, 2003 20:54:
i agree, the best way is to make CD’s cheaper.... but i don’t see this copyprotection as a problem... it has not been a problem to me anyway... i copied it to my computer (for personall use)...
daniel_alv said on February 24, 2003 20:55:
i don’t know... when i started to buy them i thought that it was enough with Happy together and those tracks... but now i wish that i had bought the maxis... they are also in plastic so they are nice longer.... the carton singles are getting ugly.... the edges are getting white

Ciao Dariophoto, why do you say “bad sound quality”?
In Italy this cd is in stores from 21-2-03.
Opportunity Nox is amazing and the cd is very pretty.
The only bad thing is the copy protection system because I like creating my own compilations, mixing songs and remixes from various Roxette’s cds.
