Do your family like Roxette?

Me and my brother discovered Roxette together in late 80s. He loved Roxette ,but now he says he hates them. But I do believe that he secretly likes them anyway :). My other two younger brothers arent Roxette fans, but one of them likes “ATAY”. Thats all...

my mother always liked roxette, my dad only likes the fast songs and my sister hates roxette -> crashing doors when i turn on roxette :)

yeah, quite a lot, esp. my mum, who knows even Marie and GT songs. But she likes Eva Dahlgren the most ;) (funny to hear her singing in some kind of swedish :D:D)

My younger brother likes Roxette very much, owns every album but I’m the only Rox-freak! My mother likes “Vulnerable”, “B-Any-1-U-Wanna-B” and “Himmel No 7”!

Well, my parents like Roxette but they do not appreciate my fanism (-:
Roxette, GT and the solo stuff is the only music I listen to..and so they get a little bit angry hearing the same songs again and again.
Well, it’s too late for me. There is no other music but rox music (-;

@ joyrider - Same thing here... my mother loves Roxette, she went to their concert with me in 1995 here in Brazil... she travelled with me 12 hours by bus just to see Roxette in Sao Paulo. My father only likes the ballads. And my brother hates Roxette, but who cares ? He is the most stupid member of my family ! :)

All the best

they don´t know I´m a fan. Besides I don´t have much contacts with them. They don´t care about me.

my mum and dad like them, my dad says its proper music that you can under stand (his fave CBB) my mum loves the look . my brother only likes black rap lol. i hate rap music. although he likes almost unreal. only cos its from super mario brothers. and i like that film aswellm but im from the uk where it did best lol.

actually my parents listened to gyllene before i was born. so i guess it came naturally. they brought me to concerts and stuff 1994 in gothenburg. but now im the big fan. but my parents still borrow my cds..
they are most into gyllene and roxette. dad loves the joyride.
besides there is no summer here in Halmstad without gyllene tider!!!!!
xxx Mi

hmm my dad likes roxette a lot, in 1991 he showed me joyride on tv :) my mom don’t like them at all... only in 1995 when she heard vulnerable on the radio, she said it was a good song. i said “hey, mom, it’s roxette!” and she changed her mind :). my brother hates them, he is aware of per, he says that he looks like gay... lol we had such topic time ago:) and about my girfriend... she likes only some songs, like joyride, must have been love etc.

My mom likes it, but she prefer to listen Classic Music :)

Well... before I started to listen to Roxette, I donät know if my mum really knew so many songs... Ofcourse, she knew about Gyllene Tider and the song Sommartider... but nothing more.

Now over the years, she’s gotten more and more crazy, so I think sometimes SHE’s the biggest Roxfan in the family. But I have to take the blame for that since I litterally brainwashed her with info about both Rox, gt, per, marie... everything connected with rox. Also her fiancée likes roxette and GT, but he’s more calm. He likes it, but I don’t think he would by any CD with them. Ofcourse he don’t buy any CD’s at all...

Well... that’s it for me.

My younger brother don´t like them. He´s a rave fan. My older brother and my mum think they are okay. My father don´t care about it.

My mother likes roxette’s music very much, especially “fingertips ’93”. My sister loves them too. I was together with her on the summer joyride openair in bielefeld in 1992 (my first concert ever). She also can’t wait any longer for the pop hits.

My girlfriend used to like them :p

My mother likes Roxette in Spanish (weird :S) and Roxette in general. But Per’s song she likes the most is “Puls” from Gyllene Tider. She finds it really funny :D Also Sommartider! Anyway she thinks Kent and their lyrics (which I translated from Swedish to her) are much better :p

My brother likes some Roxette too, and thinks Run To You is really cool. But the best from Per for him is the whole solo English CD. He asks me often to listen to it :p

My father I don’t know if he even knows them :D

My aunt and my cousin Junkal really like the whole Spanish thingie (weird :s:s:s). And I have some cousin that likes Stars and Real Sugar especially.

Junkal :DDD (please :s :s :s) :p

My mom say it’s music “for little kids from 8-12 years old”

:s :D

Well, I think my parents don’t really even know that I’m a huge fan of Roxette. They probably just think I like them but not as much as some other artists. Well, they are wrong. :)

As for my mom, she knows the obvious “It Must Have Been Love.” I’ve heard her singing it sometimes, and she’ll often sing it if she hears me playing it on the computer. I’ve caught her singing “Listen To Your Heart” as well. When I was borrowing her car about a year ago, I of course put my Roxette compilation CDs in her CD player and left them there for the next time she would drive it. ;) Later on I caught her humming along to “Milk And Toast And Honey.”

As for my stepdad, the only Roxette he knows about are the wallpapers on the computer desktop - ones for “The Ballad Hits” and “The Pop Hits” recently. ;)

And my dad, not sure if he knows who Roxette is.

My older brother, he knows some of their songs, like “The Look” and so on. I made a CD with “Wish I Could Fly” and another one with “Salvation” for his wife and him to listen to. ;)

And my younger brother (11 years), well, he knows most of Roxette’s songs. That’s only because I play them to death while I’m on the computer and he is next to me playing video games. So he hears them all and sings along! I’ve even made him watch a few Roxette videos - the other day it was “Joyride” because he kept whistling so I played the video! And now his current song to sing around the house is “Opportunity Nox.” Ahhh...it’s so much fun brainwashing siblings, isn’t it?

They like some of their songs!

They’ll listen while in my car. It’s usually what’s in my CD player.

I honestly have no idea!! LOL!! I think my parents would like their ballads tho, if they don’t know the songs already. My sister might like them, but my brother would HATE them!! He doesn’t like pop music, just boring, serious modern rock, nothing with a fun, bright melody. He prefers bands like Pearl Jam, Staind, Metallica, Rush, even some Prince, but nothing with a hint of good pop sensibility. Shame shame.

On the other hand, one of my best friends is a big fan and only getting bigger. He only heard the US hits, but I did play him tracks off RS, HAND, TWATG, and SDLHA from “Don’t Bore Us..”, and now he’s hooked and wants it all, LOL!!

I became a fan of Roxette because my sister gave me a tape with some Roxette-songs on it.
She still likes Roxette (and has all albums except RS and TBH) and from my other sisters I don’t know if they like it. They do not have any Roxette-records, so not really, i guess.

hehe one of my little brothers worst memories is when he was ill and I forced him to look at “Roxettes greatest video hits”. hehehehe. Now he vomits everytime he see Maries on the stairs in CBB video ...

They don’t hate Roxette, though I make them crazy by playing it all the time. My mom hates it when I play ” sleeping in my car “, but that’s all.

My mum explores all the news with me and I usually share the new releases with her :) Her fave Rox song is Paint and Natt efter natt by Marie.. gotta ask about Gt, haha :)

My Mum is a fan of there music and so is my Dad... although my Mum likes them the most...

my brother loves their old CD’s and some od the newer songs... he is a faan, but not as big as i.... he will join me if there’ll be more tours....

my mother likes TRO a lot.... my parents think that they are good, but they don’t want to listen to it to much

I got my mum to listen to Roxette and since 19994 when we were together at the C!B!B!-concert in Munich, she’s also sort of fan. She loves Per’s and Marie’s solo-stuff (I always have to translate the lyrics for her) and waits for every new Rox-CD as much as I do. We were together on RS-concert in Munich as well. She isn’t so much into GT, it’s a bit too wild, she says. But if Rox or GT or whatever will do a tour some day again, she would join me in the first row, she said! :D
My dad is likes them too, but he is quite calm, would never go to any concert or something! His favourite is TCOTH! :)
Even my little budgie loves Roxette! :o)

hehe, it’s thanks to my dad that I got into Rox! My mum isn’t really bothered by any of it, and my dad isn’t into them any more but he’s ok with them. My sis hates them though! she is an eminem freak! My dad said “he’s greatful that I have a decent taste in music”!!!

My Mom loves Perfect Day! But this is the only one thing she likes from Rox

My second oldest brother brought ’The look’ and played it all the time, I hated it at the time! Then another brother brought IMHBL and Dangerous too! They don’t really listen to Roxette anymore, they only really know about them cause I play them all the time otherwise (being from Australia) they would think they split up years ago!

My sister (my twin) loves them and has come to the two Sydney shows in 91,95 but she doesn’t really listen to them that often. She was shocked when I told her about Marie’s tumour.

My Mum and Dad like them but aren’t too fussed about it all. I was however playing the ballad hits and the ’new’ songs and my Dad said to me the next day “What were those songs you were playing last night?” and I said “Roxette of course” and he said “Yeah very good!” And occasionally my Mum asks me how Marie is doing too!

My oldest brother and his wife like Roxette too but they don’t really listen to them much nowadays, the have three kids it takes up all your time ;) But they took me to the Joyride show in 91’ when I was to young to go by myself and they loved it! Both were really surprsied about Marie’s tumour and feel bad for her.

So at least no-one hates them in my family but I’m the big fan by far!

My brother made me a Roxette-addict by bringing the look, dressed for succes, sleeping single, paint and dangerous on a tape home. Nowadays he prefers heavy metall but I know that he’s sometimes borrowing some Rox-stuff from my collection, especially since I have some live stuff from room-service... (; He also wanted to come to the Zurich-gig 2001 but then he told me that he didn’t get any tix... ???

My parents hate all kind of pop-music, they prefer classic music. So sometimes it’s pretty difficult, in the living room they play classic, my brother plays heavy metall and I play rox....

Definitely! My mother likes Rox very much and my sister came with me to a concert, when they visited Budapest:-) (by the way I was only 15, never been in concert before, but my sister enjoyed the show very much!!!)

my mum does! YEP!

@Storm, that’s so sad :(
But I like you :)

My family knows Roxette very well and they even appreciate Swedish music, it took a while for them to get used to it and now they have to listen to Russian too (Tatu).

we’re a small family :-) btw how many user has got TDR?!

My brother (he is 21) likes Roxette. He borrowed 2 of my albums already.
It would seem like, he only likes the fast songs especially those songs sung by Per, but when I asked him which Roxette style he likes if its the ballads or pop, he said both.

I make them listen to Roxette. They have no choice.

@ many thanks rlad @

@royalball@ lol lol :)

Well... it was actually my father who got me into Roxette in the first place. A lot of my family liked Roxette (my uncle; my grandmother; my aunt). I remember it vividly: my dad came down from upstairs one day (in our grandmothers house), and he said “hey, look what I found”. And it was a copy of the Joyride album.

I don’t know why, but Roxette escaped me around the time of The Look-I Must Have Been Love.

My dad, he likes them. Whenever he’s doing housework (wallpapering, etc), he seems to go for Room Service (strange!!). He watches the ’All the Videos’ DVD ocassionally.

My mom, she likes the ballads (It Must Have Been Love, Wish I Could Fly). But, she doesn’t really listen to ANY CDs at all.

My oldest brother - I caught him watching my ’All The Videos...’ DVD once. I think he’s a ’closet’ Roxette fan. But, alas, he just moved out - so I don’t think I’ll ever know.

My other brother - he doesn’t like them. But, he’s only into all that rap cr*p - so I don’t care!

My younger sister - she is the 2nd biggest Roxette fan in the house. Right now, her favourite is CBB - she just loved Sleeping In My Car!!

Oh... and my dog likes ’Breathe’. Everytime I put that song on my stereo, she seems to nestle beside the speaker and closes her eyes.

Doesn’t my dog have great taste!! ;)

only my mother, my sister hates roxette because she said that she’s feed up ...

My mum likes some of their stuff...anyone in UK will know that when radio one stopped playing roxette, radio 2 started to support a lot of the singles, especially the ballads, and my mum always listens to that station in the morning...so she used to always tell me when she heard the latest songs....she also bought a compliation CD that had it must have been love on it, so she likes that song along with other ballads like anyone, wish i could fly, etc
My sister hates roxette....i think mainly because i used to play roxette non-stop at full volume when i was a teenager, and she was in the room next door. I love perfect day and used to always play it loud when the joyride album came out so she hates that one especially...though she did like marie’s mellan sommar och host.

my parents learnt to appriciate them while I was at home but now I’ve moved out I have started trying to convert my housemates HeHeHe (evil manical laugh as I plot brainwashing the world into becoming Roxette fans)

My sister always made jokes about me being a Roxette fan, but it got better over the years. Once I was very astonished, when I returned from school and my Room Service CD was missing. I found it in my sisters room. She likes Jefferson.

My brother was a big Roxette-fan too.But now he don’t like at all.He says they already boring.

My parents like Rox a lot.

I’m the only one that likes them. My brother cannot stand them, gives me s**t every time i talk about them or listen to a song. My parents don’t mind them, they figure its better than the crap that my brother listens to. ;-)
