ON video: a big mistake

my thoughts of the video for OPPORTUNITY NOX
1. they wanted to shoot an animated video... question: why didn’t they hire a director with expertise in animated videos (like the guy from “let love be your energy” by robbie williams) not such a beginner by akerlund!?
2. this video makes the (great) song worse ...
3. comics of marie and per - ok. good idea - but this figures don’t look like M&P!
4. where is the story?? ... i think the video generation would rather see a clip with a story and (cute, nice, pretty) actors. this would make the song a lot better - think of young people in a crowd singing and dancing OPPORTUNITY NOX — non-roxers may would think: “hey, this cool people all sing roxette’s song - is roxette cool in the end? well. maybe. yes.
5. mr. akerlund: have you ever heard of destimonials? that could have bring the song on a much higher level!
6. this video looks cheap, a production without having enough time to finish, sth you don’t wanna watch a second time...
7. it’s clear that roxette won’t perform ON on stage/on tv-shows/festivals etc. so for getting attention and promotion the video HAVE TO BE PLAYED on music tv ... isn’t it very risky then, to release sth like this video??
please write some positve about the video because as you can read i am dissapointed that one of roxette’s greatest songs has to be the soundtrack of this 3 minutes joke!

MTV will find a lot of reasons ... maybe because of the frogs ... you know they can also used as drugs *lol* and marie is stopping the car ... isn’t this kind of dangerous this time?

what’s the big deal? Marie and Per couldn’t be in the video, they tried something for the first time in a long long career...now come on people, it’s not a bad video, maybe it’s not the greatest animated video ever, but it’s something new...

I think I finaly get the point as to why ppls hate this video.... ( this is after a few glasses of wine, but I don’t care what you think anyway).
It’s that alot of ppls have trouble in seeing Per and Marie as the characters in that video, I think its coz ppls had other ideas as to what the video would/should be like and this distorts your view of it (maybe....maybe not).
I’ve watched it 7 or 8 times now and I’m finaly seeing it for what it is, damn funny! It’ll be played on MTV UK (if we ever get the single) because its so off the wall its unbelievable. (although they might find a reason to ban it yet!)
It’s got no story line ( not that I can see anyway).....but who cares LOL, this vid has made me laugh more that Real Sugar, and that was damn funny too.
Maybe its my warped sense of humour, but I like it!

The video is really happpy and entertaining just like that song is. So, i really think it’s a nice combination. I really enjoyed it and congratulate Marie and Per! Cool video!

I think when the lyrics are utter nonsense then the video can be nonsense just as well.

i said it already before, i like the idea of an animated video, and i like seeing Per and Marie as cartoons...but as Joyrider said... they could have got a person with more experience in the subject, cuz you can appreciate that it’s not a very worked out video.
Somebody said in the Roxspain list that you could some of the scenes with a program that came together with one of Jean Michel Jarre albums...
and i have watched the video already about 10 times, but that doesnt change my mind, I like the song, i like the idea, but I think it was made too fast, too in a rush, and without the right means/ anime-person. I *know* this time around Roxette is not the easiest, but for once that they do something cool and different, i would have liked to see it top quality :/

You know, i have not seen any impressive animation music video to date, yes they could have made a better one, but this is not so bad. It’s kinda cute actually. I think the Salvation video is the worst they haev made ...

I’m sure this video was made in a rush. I’m actually happy that they decided to make a video for ON. It’s not THAT bad. Watch it two or three times and you’ll think it’s better.
IMHO the female figure in the video looks more like Annie Lennox than Marie Fredriksson :-)))
