Has "ON" the potential to bring Rox to the top?

Hi everybody!
Listening to this song I am thrilled to be a Roxette fan! This song is a potential Number 1 song in many European Countries. If Roxette just get the same promotion as they did for ATAY, “ON” will be a bigger hit then “ATAY” was for sure. This song Rox, this song has got the potential to bring Roxette back to the very top, if Opportunity Nox is not going to bring them back to the Top, nothing ever will. This is exactly the kind of song I was waiting for, for years! I had been waiting for this masive song, where I would think from the very beginning: “WOOOOW! THAT’S IT!!!!
Do you know what I mean??
So please tell me, what do you think? Has this song got the potential to bring Roxette back on top again? Do you reckon it is going to happen?

It will all depend on the kind of promotion Capitol will do. The song itself is fantastic and full of hit potential but you know that promotion is very very important too.
Will there be a videoclip? Will there be a promotion tour? How many countries? Does the song allow Per to perform the song alone on TV? We don’t have an answer to these questions so far.
So let’s wait and see...

But I really would like to have video!! Maybe with some impressions from the RS tour or kind of a cartoon..I think it would be ok for us this time to have a NEW video WITHOUT Per and Marie in it..! ((-:
Video airplay is very important, too..

What would fit the song in my opinion would be some reckless night-time driving...The sound world of the song seems to be quite ’dark’ in a way.

Or it could something opposite...Kind of like the latest Sugababes video ’Stronger’: that clip doesn’t really suit the track but is absolutely brilliant.
In Roxette’s case there could be sunshine, balloons, etc...

Per could even perform this on Stage or TV with Marie pics on a big screen behind him... everybody would understand and people would even be more curious about Roxette then, thinking: “How come he is playing alone? Oh, is the female part ill?...
Do you know what I mean? People would be curious and actually interested in why’s, what and hows...
As most of the times, I probably didn’t make much sense here! ;-)

The Marie Wallpaper idea is bad. I mean I am sorry but feels more like if she is dead and there is a concert in Marie’s memory where Per is singing on the stage. (God Forbidden!)

After almost 20 years as a successful band Roxette ain’t nothing more to prove and that’s it! They are no biggniners in this bussiness....they had their number one time ando they are still delighting lost of people..being number one is irrelevant...it’s nothing but pretty thing to get but not a musical achievment...Las Ketchup are number one, is that music? Ummmmm....

You do know that Germany’s still one of the five biggest markets, do you? And they did have some more hits there than the ones you’ve mentioned...
BTW, what’s wrong with having a radio hit? It’s still a hit! If being a commercial hit is the only criterion for a hit, does that mean singles that make it into... let’s say the Top 50 of the Billboard charts but aren’t released commercially aren’t a hit? Yeah sure...
Just for the record: there are no less than 25(!) so-called album cuts in the current Billboard Hot 50 single charts, the highest one being “Beautiful” by Christina Aguilera on #4 - you really should try telling her that this is not a hit *g*

the problem with radio is it rearely reflects the actually mass appeal of a song...a good 90% of radio is like owned by clear channel which programs what you listen to thats why everything sounds the same it sucks

Coyboy is right about radio - that goes at least for the USA market. Can’t say it’s the same around the rest of the world. Hopefully not. With the way that radio works now, it’s hard to define a “hit record” since there are many examples of albums selling a load without any singles that have airplay hits - and it goes the other way too.

The beeps after the chorus kinda reminds me of the 80’s classic “Kids in America” from Kim Wilde :-)
I think it could do quite well in the charts.
