im setting all the radio staions i know on fave, and emailling them every day to play ’atby’ think my parts done i think, cant do ant more apart from buy 1000’s of singles.lol
i also send them new ballad hits pics with the email aswell, just becouse they might of forgot what they look like. its been that long since they were here in the uk. hehe

Quite a shocker to hear the song at UK radio. Seems like there was no word about it hitting radio and it just showed up. Maybe the same will happen with the U.S. market. Maybe it will just show up at radio and one of us will hear it.

Guys, don’t get overexcited here! How many times have they played it? Just a few times really... at the moment, we should not get too excited, of course this is great news, but at this time, everything could happen, it could just die within the coming week, or pick up like we never saw before.. so, I think, we should better hold our horses for another week or two...
I can see though, that even in Ireland Roxette started to get some Airplay, usually you would hear It must have been love like twice a year, if you are lucky, but yesterday, on my way home, they played listen to your heart... didn’t mention anything about Roxette’s new single though... well, i still doubt, that Roxette is going to release a single here anyway...

i’m not sure of any other stations at the moment... the local station here in MK doesnt have email address (whats up with that!!) so... uhm... at the moment its just better i think to get it played on radio 2 as much as we can! stations like radio 1 and virgin radio etc.. are only really interested in playing pop-crap like popstars groups and just silly little rubbish. and plus one of the DJs there dont like Roxette...
whereas... Steve Wright at radio 2 does like them! so you could email him if you want, at [email protected] or even Terry Wogan (cos i heard it on his show yesterday) at [email protected].

With the US situation uncertain at the moment... I personally think that one of the best things that could happen would be for these UK releases to do well (of course do well comes down to selling well)... and for EMI Capitol in the US to see that this was a successful venture for EMI Capitol in the UK...
Can fans help? Absolutely YES. Writing to EMI and criticizing them is NOT a good idea. A much better idea would be to get ahold of someone there and ask how you and other fans can HELP them to promote sales.
A hit on radio is one of the absolutely BEST ways to sell a record/album... and the trick there is to convince the radio programmers that a LOT of ppl really like this song... not just a few rabid fans who keep sending e-mail after e-mail. You need to enlist your friends.... and make phone calls to request lines...
And even though YOU know... make sure lots of DIFFERENT ppl call the record stores... asking when the CD is going to be out... this will create a buzz... and encourage them to increase their order... display the CD prominently, etc.

i dont know, it just depends, i mean ive only heard it on radio 2 and its the first week. record company needs to get videos show on tv and commercials posters. but there not gonna do that if they think it wont sell. its a circle.

i heard WICF loads on radio everytime i worked ( at a newsagents) it was playing. first time i saw roxette on english TV aswell. i know they cant now, but would of made hell of a difference if they where here.

Once or twice a day isn’t going to make it a number 1 hit.
They’re not a boy/girl band, they’re not British or American, they haven’t got a novelty song and they don’t have a record company willing to take a risk that a single might become a hit and make more money available for promo
Hopefuly the album will do well as its a compilation and they don’t have to promote their old stuff.
A few adverts on TV...with vid clips from IMHBL and LTYH would go down well. Thats if they’re concerned with sales figures.
And lastly....all those about to flame me for being negative, ;) I emailed EMI (asking about release dates) and my local commercial radio station asking about air play.....so far from EMI i have an ’out of office reply’....and from my local radio station.....absolutely nothing.

the album ballad hits is indeed released in the uk on the 10th february 2003.this is listed on our website as a pre-order item. there are 2 other listings for this title which are imported copies and not the official uk release. one copy became avilable to us on the 6th november 2002, and costs £18.99 , the second on the 18th december 2002 at £27.99. i am sorry if this has caused any confusion.
at present we have no news of a new roxette single release. we have a copy of emi’s current release schedule which details all confirmed uk releases up until 7th april, but no roxette releases are listed. the moment we receive any information from emi , i can assure you it will be sent out to our stores.

this morning I have emailed 27 radio stations, and have another 19 to go (may have to do that tomorrow morning). I have a great PR programme called PR Planner, which details all of the media contacts - not as good as waymaker online, but is still very good.
I had one reply from an internet based review company www.onlinepop.com and passed it on to EMI UK - who have got back to me.
I am doing my best!

ATAY was played a few times yesterday on Radio 2, but......on the Pop Quiz....not sure if it’s Jeremy Vine or the guy before him.....the first question was..... ’which duo had a top 10 hit in 1993 with Almost Unreal’ typicaly the guy who was answering didn’t have a bloody clue! but then he didn’t have a clue with the questions about his specialist band either (which was Madness) so a bit of a bumb arse ;)
