Jud (moderator) said on January 13, 2003 10:28:
let’s see how it sounds like :)
I like some of her songs, especially her past albums, the new one is a bit too much commercial.. but I like her voice :)
rox-kuryliw said on January 13, 2003 16:37:
i liked it although im not a big fan of covers or dance music. loved ’Im alive’ the ultimate up-lifting song.
Stormkeeper said on January 13, 2003 18:10:
a new album this soon???
I love I DROVE ALL NIGHT and Cyndi!! Her best song if you ask me! Love the video too! Have u heard her new EP Shine? Everyone´s talking about it.
Alfonsette said on January 13, 2003 21:37:
As it’s know dance covers are worse than the original songs, but theres a dance cover of that song really good
“Bandido feat. Piropo - I drove all night”
I recomend you
Anarem said on January 14, 2003 01:55:
As much as I love Céline, I think she was a much better performer when she still sang in French. But I’d like to check out that new single.
coyboyusa said on January 16, 2003 23:09:
I am in tears she has ruined one of the ebst performances cyndi lauper has ever done...this is more desecration than her cover of cover of you shook me all night long...its all synths no real guitars JESUS NO
DaCapo21 said on March 18, 2003 18:14:
I have never been her fan but this song in particular really rocks ... by the way Cindy sang it in 1989 not 1992 ...
But i am also impressed a new album one year later to ANHC .. jesus...lol
boykie19 said on March 18, 2003 18:20:
i got the new cyndi lauper album with 12 songs its called shine.. its a shame it wasnt ever officially released ;(( i luv the song called “madonna whore” lol :P
DaCapo21 said on March 18, 2003 18:22:
Celine has better songs for me but none of these are internatioanal hit releases like “Then You Look At Me” from her best of album
boykie19 said on March 18, 2003 18:25:
i heard a few clips from the new celine album.. the song one heart is almost like “im alive” a nice song..
what ive noticed celine doesnt really sing alot of ballads anymore?
DaCapo21 said on March 18, 2003 18:30:
She got tired of them a bit she admited on an interview. It’s easy to say “Celine SING more ballads cause they are great” but is the singer is not willing to do it so much anymore don’t you think she has the right to try anything else for a change? She’s a human as well and not a machine
Stormkeeper said on March 18, 2003 19:02:
coyboy
what´s wrong with all synths?
I like those dance beats...
Stormkeeper said on March 18, 2003 19:04:
Cyndi... Cindy...
why some call her “Cindy”? :) It has always been a mystery to me! :))
It´s like some call Marilyn Monroe Marylin :)) hi hi
coyboyusa said on March 18, 2003 19:33:
the video sucks the cover song suchs and her new album has 2 old songs fromt he last album on it..its all promotion for her 3 yr gig in las vegas..no offence to here but she needs to pic better matieral..i love the song prayer that corey hart wrote for her...and i surrender is a great song but as a whole her only amazing album was falling into you
coyboyusa said on March 18, 2003 19:34:

boykie19 said on March 18, 2003 19:37:

vaxjoe said on March 18, 2003 19:45:
i remember a commercial about jeans with jason priestley and Roy Orbisons version (EDWIN jeans)
powerpoplarry said on March 18, 2003 20:19:
Sorry but I don’t care for Celine’s cover of “I Drove All Night”, she ruined it, the chorus hook is gone, as is the honest intensity of the original + Cyndi’s superior cover. PLUS, Celine’s version is just a tool for her ad campaign for Chrysler cars!! She reduced the meaning of the song to ad campaign hell, talk about cheesy!! She does have a good voice, when she’s not being bombastic or over-the-top.
coyboyusa said on March 18, 2003 21:04:
the onyl song worth anything on the new album is faith the rest of the album is such boring trash sheesh
Malmo said on March 18, 2003 21:37:
“I Drove All Night” was an outstanding song from the very beginning!!!!
I’ve heard it in Celine Dion performance and though I’m not a Celine’s admirer, I think it is perfectly performed!!! A new hit is comming :))
nate said on March 19, 2003 03:44:
I rather like the new version, and will probably buy the CD once it’s released.
boykie19 said on March 21, 2003 17:58:
i just go the new album.... its really great!! all the songs r good!!! much better than “a new day has come” album... all the songs fit well with each other :))
je t’aime encore is my fav one... i never had this feelin about a celine song that this one gives.. its really gr8 ;)
nate said on March 22, 2003 03:45:
Eh Boykie, I appreciate you sharing your comments about the new CD; I look forward to getting hold of a copy soon. Regards.
Stormkeeper said on March 22, 2003 07:43:
i like those dance beats.
is there any other dance songs on the album?
boykie19 said on March 22, 2003 11:31:
yea there is another dance song on the album called “reveal” also VERY good! :) the song one heart has a nice midtempo beat ;)
robmc said on March 23, 2003 05:59:
I’m a fan of Celine’s french material and a few english albums and singles. I generally don’t like her covers (I think she butchered “Power Of Love” and “All By Myself”) but I do like this one. I prefer Cyndi Lauper’s video though.
coyboyusa said on March 23, 2003 13:47:
power of love blew away the original broadway recording of the song...all by myself was incredibly melodramatic I didn’t liek it either...it just irks me that now she fills her albums with previously released matierl...to loveyou more was originally a b-side
rafael said on March 23, 2003 20:33:
Miss Dion, I’d like to see you marry your husband a third time but please never release another album!
vaxjoe said on March 23, 2003 20:36:
btw “Power of love” was someone elses song as well, i cant remember the name right now
Stormkeeper said on March 23, 2003 20:36:
hi hi @rafael lol
I guess you just like OR not artists like Celine, Mariah and Whitney.
High voices!
boykie19 said on March 23, 2003 20:45:
u know sheryl crow also sings all by myself.. its on her very first album
vaxjoe said on March 23, 2003 20:45:
I have laura branigans and celines version, i lost Rush’s version though :(
Stormkeeper said on March 23, 2003 20:53:
at least I hope nobody stole Self Control from Laura B lol
vaxjoe said on March 23, 2003 20:58:
no nobody
Btw my Laura Branigans top tunes:
1.Self control
2.The lucky one
3.Gloria
i only have the best of...when i was really young (like 10-11) i remember i had a tape with one of her albums and there were other 3 songs i like...im not sure of the titles...Living alive-Oh daddy- (slow one like power ballad was the other one she was singing “noone without u ” or something)
roxtexanet said on March 23, 2003 20:59:
I hate Celine for what she did to my favourite Cyndi Lauper song... can you guys believe this piece of trash entered at #1 on the Swedish charts (but OpNox came in at #11!)?!
gsobarzo said on March 25, 2003 15:14:
Finally someone remebers Laura Branigan!...
She was my favourite artist back in 1986, and I was only six years old!...hehehe
I remember the Lucky One , Self Control and a smashing power ballad called “With Every Beat Of My Heart”
carmie said on March 30, 2003 06:46:
i think yet again a perfectly good childhood memory that was related to a song was just killed an artists this 1 being celine dion.
“i drove all nite” was and still is a very special and private song of my faveorates (esecially cindy’s version)
i think some music artists should leave some songs alone and “i drove all nite”is one of them.
realsuga said on July 26, 2005 15:28:
Cyndi’s rendition will always b superior - one of my all-time favourite artists in the world. Used 2 love Celine but unfortunately that affair has ended....she’s too bland now. Cyndi rox!
purplemedusa said on July 26, 2005 15:32:
Well her last attempt together with Anne Geddes was the final nail in her coffin for me... but STILL adore her first international french album!
Marc said on July 26, 2005 15:37:
There is going to be double cd complation of her greatest hits in french later this year.
realsuga said on July 27, 2005 07:48:
D’Eux was sensational I agree....but when I actualy put together all the celine songs I really do like it’s only enough to put onto 1 album....quite scary really considering the amount she’s released. Us, Water From The Moon, Let’s Talk About Love, Just Walk Away & That’s The Way It Is are now I think the only English language songs I can stomach.......
purplemedusa said on July 27, 2005 07:59:
She’s become to much of a show-girl... her music is no longer groundbreaking or exciting... pitty coz she’s got such a great talent!
tevensso (moderator) said on July 27, 2005 08:04:
I just realized that a childhood friend of mine writes, plays and produces Celine’s material! :D Peer Astrom (Pär Åström really).
purplemedusa said on July 27, 2005 08:48:
Really? Wow u should make contact with him again! I noticed that Stafan Astner did some guitar work on the One Heart album... not sure about the others tho!
coyboyusa said on July 29, 2005 12:05:
its not that bad actually but there are some great songs, also i didnt know that have you ever been in love was written by darryl hall from the bad hall and oates i wondered why the songs sounded familiar lyrically
ChrisWilliams said on July 29, 2005 15:18:

NickNL74 said on January 13, 2003 03:59:
WHAT?!?!?! Yet another Céline Dion album..??
Doesn’ t she have nothing else to do than constantly recording (and obviously repeating) herself? I used to like her, but that love has run dry long ago.. :-(
