By FNAC Portugal. (For those of you who don’t know, mostly for sure at least the Spanish fans must do, but then for those who don’t, FNAC is a multinational megastore.) I mean, don’t know if anyone cares at all, perhaps this is just some another pointless thread, but... Since we don’t always come across favourable words about Roxette’s work... So I thought you might like to “hear” these... :)

“A record that includes all the best ballads from Roxette, 15 great songs, of which 2 are previously unreleased. The first single, precisely one of the new tracks, has already entered the list of the most played songs in Portugal and, of course, all across Europe it’s already a hit. Roxette are, undoubtedly, one of the best Pop bands of the World, having sold, globally, throughout their career, over 55 million records, of which 40 million albuns and 15 million singles, such is the succession of hits over the last 15 years. “It Must Have Been Love”, one of the tracks included on this album, is today still one of the most played themes around the whole World. To give an idea of the impact, in the United States alone, this song has been played on the radio over 3 million times, since its release in 1990. The track-list on this record speaks for itself. All 13 songs are huge hits and have marked a lot of music buyers. The 2 new ones are so strong that will be, without doubt, another 2 great successes.”

Well, and for those hunger for nice words, (why not?) here’s yet their line on “Room Service” too...

“The return of one of the greatest hit-makers of the World. This duo is responsible for the creation of some of the biggest hits ever, and they’re back with one more album fully loaded with potential successes. The first single, “The Centre Of The Heart”, is already playing all over and, in only 2 weeks, it’s already #31 in the European Airplay Top.”

As well as (again why not?) a couple of comments from our radio DJs to ATAY...

“Like a recipe in the hands of an experienced pastry cheff. The cake always turns out great. When you know you never forget. And this duo does know how to make great music.” (Tasty one or what? :P )

“Only great songs to be found here. Like the “belíssima” new one by Roxette.” (Probably you even know that expression, “belíssima”, from Italian, I bet? Well, I’d translate it as... “most beautiful”? :) )

“It is sooooo beautiful, this new song from Roxette...” (I mean, yes, this is probably the simplest thing to say about a song, which would make it a rather minor comment, yes. But... the way it was said... That all melted voice, of someone who is absolutely surrended to a song, and just wishes to share such pleasure with everyone listening (if you can get the picture?)... I mean, I don’t actually listen much to the radio, and also I’m a fan only since ’94, so I may have missed something in between, but... I don’t recall to ever have heard a radio DJ talking with such deeply felt emotion (yes, those extra “o” there in “sooooo” are there for a reason) about a Roxette song (or any song at all for that matter)... ever... I say, in that moment... my eyes got wetty... :) )

“I see you have great taste. This new song by Roxette really is wonderful. And yes, it is on our playlist already, of course.” (The reply I got, when I wrote to one of the main national radio stations here, early in October, asking whether they were/would be playing ATAY. And yes, I was pleasantly shocked with it too! :P )

So in the end I say: what a relief to know not everyone in the world is named Per Bjurman and Sara Cox! >;P~ (Sorry! Couldn’t resist. *shy grin*)
