Rox-gaffes

Does anyone know about anything said by Per and Marie that was said mistakenly? Like for example, telling a country capital name wrongfully (the capitol of Brazil is...is...Rio de Janeiro!!!), or any other thing that wasn’t really appropriate to say, ’cause it would sound unpolite, offensive, well, you know what gaffe means, right? Does anybody know something like that?

yes, I know. in Vienna /RS tour/ after the concert , while’s the “meeting” with Marie and Per. (I wasn’t there, so if I get wrong with something, please, Bulgarians, correct me ;) so, what’s the “gaffe”: ixtlaner is talking to Marie, telling her that she (ixtlaner) comes form Bulgaria... and Marie’s response: (something like) “oh, yes! Bulgaria - we played there , in Budapest, long ago, 1992!” ... but , you know (or eventually not) , Budapest is the capital of Hungary! ;)

hihi

well but you must admit that Rio de Janeiro is the most well-known city in Brazil..who knows Brasilia? :P

like..like..in some of my trips around Europe..I have met people who thought Barcelona was the capital city of Spain..

Although i agree with Judith, such issue is very unfortunate. It’s the same thing when some people come up to me and say that Brazil is in Europe. If that was the case, them Europe would only be Brazil, since Europe fits right into the brazilian territory. Another thing is when some people say that brazilians speak brazilian!!! That’s insane!!! It’s portuguese or more precisely, Brazilian Portuguese. It’s the same thing if i go and say that Mexicans speak mexican or that Canadians speak canadian and Americans speak american. It’s sad. People should be careful when saying certain things cause they may hurt or insult people.

Take care people!
Carlos E., New York!

well more than hurt I think the person is a bit messed up or has a big “failed” in the geography exam :PP (not that I am one of the best in this subject anyway)

ask Bush where Spain is, he thinks (thought?) it was a province or state in Mexico...yejaaa :D

Correct me if I’m wrong, but a couple of weeks George Bush actually said something like:
Canadians speak canadian and that’s a language I don’t speak.
Maybe he said it in an other way, but more or less like this it was.

Yeah, he probably infered another meaning.

Carlos E. New York.

Brazil’s capitol it is actually, River de Janeiro.

oh that sounded so stupid
“river de janeiro”.... but you meant “river of Janeiro” :))

worse than saying Good Airs..

Well, Marie should know where Budapest is, since her husband is Hungarian and they’ve been here to visit the relatives of Mikael...

A Hungarian music channel once made an interview with Roxette and when they told them that they were from a Hungary, Marie got cheered up and said: “Oh yes, we’ve once performed there, in Budapest”. Then Per followed: “Yes, during the Crash! Boom! bang! Tour”. Marie agreed heavily. Although it was the Join the Joyride Tour, in 1992...

Duh, Ferdan! You really don’t have a humor! Of course I know is written wrongfully! And it would be “January River”, if translated correctly. I only wanted to joke on something stupid, that’s it.

And until where I know, in the case of Buenos Aires, it would be “Good Skies” not “Good Airs”.

Probably Bush thinks Australia’s capitol is Sidney, too.

But not even him, Per and Marie could tell in an interview or anything else someday, that England’s capitol is Manchester (oh, so many names to remember...)

o i didn’t know Janeiro was january.... interesting

“Cielos” is skies.... or heaven
Aire is air (the name Bs.As. is talking about the air that you breath)
—————

yeh I bet little Bush doesn’t know the capitol of Australia.... anyway.... it’s a common mistake saying Sydney...
