I guess it is about the cells being canerous - as ’gift’ in german means poison....bad, bad news for us...but of course more so for marie.

If it is true then: ’we love you and are thinking of you!’.

It says that not only the tumour was cancerous but that the cancer already spreaded over her whole body!

She gets chemotherapy and kind of radiation..she is feeling not very well (understandable).

Her condition is very bad! The medication is hard and Marie suffers from sickness and looses her hair.
Micke is of course supporting her as the whole family is.

Well as I understand she first got the radiation and it did not work and now she will have the chemotherapy.
She hopes that it is going to help fighting the cancer that spreaded over her body..

This CAN and I am afraid MIGHT be the end of Roxette afterall. This treatment is very powerfull.. u loose hair, weight, your nose can go bonkers ’cuz it starts to smell more than it should. The whole thing brings u down on the ground. I think Marie is not gona be doing anything till the end of next year (but that also depends on the number of chemotherpies she is given).

Doesn’t matter if Rox stays alive anymore.. I want Marie to be fine and healthy and up and running.

Anyway, let’s keep our fingers crossed for Marie. Simply never had imagined it to come to this stage after the previous happenings.

Maybe some words got changed or lost..don’t know..my swedish is not that well and I had to translate it from the german translation. So SORRY if anything is wrong with it.

But I read in the german translation that the cancer is not under control at the moment..that is how I translated it!

I really hope we got an official statement VERY soon!

I can’t believe it, everytime when I start again to think positive about Marie’s condition there comes always something worser!
I was praying the whole time that there won’t come the news that it’s cancer, and with the weeks I really believed it cause Per was talking so positive everytime when he saw her and she was in the studio again.
BUT NOW!!
It’s so unfair, why Marie??
And what means it’s threating to spread? Of course, when it’s cancer there is always the danger that it already spreaded. That’s the awful at cancer, but why did they write it? And what did they mean with they don’t get it under control?
Did it already spread? Did they find another Tumor?
Sorry, I really tried to think positive all the weeks, but now I’m loosing more and more the “positive thinking”.
But I will not stop praying for her.....

@Kiwein: the article said that the doctors will try to PREFENT the cancer from spreading....it probably hasn’t spread yet.

I don’t think Expressen is telling lies, but... maybe it’s trying to sell a few more issues.
We don’t know what exactly is going on, and maybe we’ll never know. And that’s ok, as it is *so* private to Marie and her family and closest friends.
My mother was operated this year because of a cancer, she was under radiotherapy for about 2 months, every day, and now she’s undergoing chemotherapy. And she’s fine. It’s not that terrible. Believe me.
Most of the times, this kind of treatment is done just as a precaution. It doesn’t mean the cancer is spreading.

So keep the faith, and please, don’t go beyond the facts, ok?

A customer from our salon had a tumor in her head,she had radiotheraphy and so on,she couldn’t eat or drink anymore,you saw her sicker every week,she looked really bad,but,since a few weeks,she’s much better,she looks and is healty again.................

it does NOT say that she has cancer over her whole body....

it just says that she is going to the hospital for treatment very often and that the cancer is not under controll... it didn’t say that the WHOLE vody was infected by cancer....

we have to hope that expressen is lying....

Let’s wait until we get an official statment from EMI, u can never be sure with tabloids they always like to make a story bigger than it really is that’s how they sell papers!

An official statment (which I think they should do now!) on Marie’s condition will clear a lot of things up for us. Of course if it is true it will be really tough but Marie is a fighter and she will do her best to survive this. If she does or doesn’t she has touched all of us in an incredible way what a gift she has been in my life and I will always be thankful for that!

Let’s face the facts, dear friends...

1. I don’t think that Expressen is lying... of course it’s true. We don’t really need to wait for any official statement from anyone. That’s a fact, we can’t ignore it !!!

2. I study medicine, and if Marie really have a malign tumor, than we’re in a VERY VERY deep problem.

80% of the malign brain tumors are the ones called “Astroglioms” and this kind of tumor, after being removed by surgery, trend to come back in 6/9 months, stronger than ever (even with all radio/chemistryteraphy)... and only 14% of the perssons with this tumor lives more than 1 year after the beggining of the treatment. It’s another fact... I know it’s sad, but that’s the true... let’s face it !

3. It’s sad. I know... but this mean that we will give up ? We can choose to cry as babies or start to do what we can do now for Marie... to pray and to believe. We still have a hope... she has the best medicine in the world... she has money to pay any treatment and she wants to fight... so, let’s pray and believe that, even with so little chance, she will win.

I choose to believe. And you ?

Fighting doesn’t help. No matter how good of a fighter you are, cancer is not a joke. My grandma was a real fighter when she got cancer but it was spreaded through her entire body that she passed away in 10 days. I am not saying this will happen to Marie but let’s not take this as a joke saying oh don’t cry she’ll be fine.

I don’t know if it’s true or not, what I do know is that NO OTHER Swedish media has even mentioned this. Expressen is not Sweden’s most reliable source.

Very depressing news to hear but most of us non obssessively fanatical people knew that the outcome was not going to be pleasant. I’ve been working with cancer patients for over 6 years now and alternative medicines (shark cartilage - yes it does work and has had up to a 50% success rate which conventional medicine has 14% or so, Immune system boosters, acupuncture, etc.). While cancer in the brain is not a very pleasant subject it is not the absolute worst type that exsists.

I would like to say that I believe in doctors and chemo and radition but unfortunately, I do not. Chemo is a poison that is used to destroy fast growing cells in the body (hair, stomach lining, immune system, cancer.) If it destroys the immune system your body has nothing left to fight normal diseases and the cancer itself. Also, there is a higher reocurrence of cancer after remission for patients that take Chemo. So definately, if she does undergo that form of treatment boosting her immune system should be a major factor.

I’ve dealt with the nitty gritty and unfortunately have had several clients pass on. I did have a client that was 21 years old and had a malignant tumour in a smiliar area to that reported of Marie. This person is still alive, managed to fight, put herself through law school, get married and have a child. So there is always hope.

I believe Marie is very strong and if she wants to fight she will fight even under the most difficult of circumstances. She has her family, friends and career to fight for. Though, I really hope that this will cause both Per and Marie to take it a bit easier than they have been.

I normally do not pray for things anymore. I have my reasons for it and a different religion which people shun and don’t understand. However, if there is a god, goddess, angels, almighty being, hopefully they will be kind enough to help Marie through this.

I am completely, 100% tired, sick and pissed off of the fu***** fans that think that they are Roxettes biggest fan so much that they need to harrass M and P or other memebers of the band. No one here is better than the other no matter how many pictures you own, how many CDs you have or how many times you’ve visited Sweden. What people that are fanatical are doing is giving a bad rep to people that just genuinely love the music without having to be a part of M and P’s lives...

Marie wants all of you to know that she is well and strong under the circumstances . As you know, the entire tumour was removed at the operation and Marie is resting in her home. Out of respect for Marie’s privacy we will not give any further medical details but she is very positive and looks
forward to the Christmas holidays.
