POP bootleg or original?

OK tomorrow I’ll be back to work therefore I have to post this before I get little time to join the forum... it’s about the 1986 edition of “Pearls of Passion”. Many times you can see people selling POP CD’s from 1986 and MOST of the times they are bootleg and the seller didn’t even know himself!!! So who can tell how to recognize a bootleg copy from the original? I know there’s a bootleg having regular 12 tracks but it has the star on the TOP but I’ve heard about other bootlegs which look almost the same as the original so does anybody know if the original has a specific sign of identification?

unless another batch of bootlegs has been made since I
got mine ....here’s what I noticed between them:
Star on the front cover:
Behind Roxette on the original, infront of on the bootleg
Colour of the star:
Orginal is more of a bronze colour and a better ink is used, the bootleg looks more likes its been colour photocopied.
The booklet:
The original is on better quality paper, the bootleg seems to have thin shiny paper making the grafix of the picture on the front look slightly blur.
Fonts:
The font on the actual cd itself is different, the original is slightly different to your standard windows fonts.

On the CD, if there’s no box around “9” (Tracknumber 9) it’s a bootleg. Else it COULD be original (check the other items to be sure).

The second edition of the Swedish CD, out in ’91, does also have the star in front, for some dumb reason. That’s probably why the bootleg looks like that too.

Yea....but ...you can tell the quality.....I have both....the bootleg quality is crap compared to the original. (on the booklet that is)

Thanks everybody!!!! It’s a bit more clear now... but of you still have other elements please post them (also) because there are many people making a lot of money out of bootlegs and I don’t think it’s right.

Thanks all!! Though one thing is not clear to me: *** “Read “CD Toolex Alpha” in the inner circle of the CD.” *** Is that on the original or the bootleg version?

the original POP has on the back of the cd
toolex alpha cdp 7-46459-2 701 cdm
is this not on the back then it is an bootleg

And how can you tell the difference between the 1991 issue and the 1991 bootleg?
celrox said on November 29, 2002 22:35:
To my knowledge there was only an issue in 1986 and no issue in 1991 the second issue is from a copple of years ago with the 8 bonus songs. therefore is an original POP so expensive because there aren’t so many of them for sale. The most POP that are for sale are the bootlegs with or without stars or misprinting.

Anyone who can prove to have an ORIGINAL 1991 reissue? Maybe it’s just another bootleg...

I have an original POP. I just checked all the signs you guys told. :o) But I don’t know from which year this is from. I didn’t know myself that this is an original, but it’s quite nice to know now. :o)

I’ve seen 2 different bootlegs:
1.The star behind the title Roxette:
CD: black, with white letters printed on the cd, “Roxette” not printed on the cd.
Backcover: white, with the tracklisting.
Left/rigth side: Black, with white letters.
2.The star in front of the title Roxette, black cd, letters without a colour (just the bottom of the cd).
Backcover: white, without the tracklisting.
Left/ritgh side: White, with black letters.
