They say that FC hold a contest and there were two winners, who made a title for an upcoming book...
As far as I know the story must be different:
FC really tried to hold a contest, BUT all the names they came up with were stolen from the publisher’s site so the competition was canceled from the publisher’s side. So, now the author of the book and the publisher doesn’t know anything about a “Funclub contribution” into the name of a book.
This my post is mostly addressed to those FC defenders - WHY DO YOU POST LIES on your OFFICIAL site???

Was it your idea to make such a promo? of course without sending these two copies. I don’t know for a spanish guy, but beeing a major figure in russian FC I may say that there is NO such a russian girl who by your version won a contest.
So if you think that serious organisation can lie, then, sorry :) :)

As a “major figure in Spain”, I can tell that the Spanish guy exists, that I can assure, he lives in Madrid, I have met him 2x I think, talked to him face to face, even kissed him 2x on the cheeks when I was introduced to him, so I would say he is for real ;)
He has also got the email from the FC telling him he will get a free copy of the book and he sent an email to the Spanish Roxspain list with a copy of the 3 titles he thought of (and sent to the Fanclub) back in 2000.

take it as is comes. there is a FC-organisation who is doing their best to please fans in general. be happy with it!

Ronney - you seem to be paranoid, coz haven’t understood a problem before replying. The Author and Publisher don’t know about this contest. Official comment from publisher will follow soon.

They are being honest and keep on the track. Nobody remembered that indeed there was a competition... not even Ktoto (one of the winners and a roxfriend of mine) remembered or EVEN related his proposals with the final title...

And I am not saying that FC didn’t held a contest.
Only one FACT - publisher and author knew nothing about it results - so FC made a useless contest and then after seeing a real book name (chosed by publisher without FC help) decided to find winners. That is a nice decision, just WHY do you say that publisher chosed name with your help (they say, they don’t) - all this fight is useless - only don’t post lie on official page :)
BTW - FC - I make a niice promo to you ;)

It was just a competition a really looooong time ago, since the book has been posponed a lot of times. Therefor even the fc forgot about what titles had been mentioned, but the title of the book rang a bell so one of the guys searched the old mail for the competionmails and found out that the final title was a combination of two suggestions! So we informed both of the people that won and highlighted them on the webbie and they will get a free copy of the book. I don’t see the problem here.

I understand that you are part of the newly created RFO team.
I was eagerly interested in this new organisation when I first heard of it’s plans. Afterall, competition has to be good thing, especially if the fans can benefit from this.
You appear to have made a great start, Pietro has worked hard to make a great website. And your organisation is even taking orders for the new book.
I believe you (and I’m referring to you directly, not the organisation) are jepodising the hard efforts and energies given by your colleagues.
Your various posts within Smalltalk are continously attacking the official FC and in some instances you have belittled yourself by name calling. Not very professional is it?
How can we now take the RFO seriously? I for one would find it very hard to get involved with them or even send money to purchase books etc, when one of it’s team conducts himself like this.
And this would all be such a shame.

I wish them good luck, coz they are trying to make some sort of fanclub like all other bands have - where members really communicate, receive some sort of magazins, btw - they won’t have a site closed for a year or longer... Yes, I asked Pietro to help ’em to make a site, - and he as usual made a really cool design.
Speaking of my role there - now I am only a private person, who supports their ideas. If everyting goes on like they describe, Russian FanClub will join them for sure. But that I can’t personally decide for whole FC... If (and only if) they will have a nice start before Cristmas - I mean a site, book, newsletter, etc - we will join them, like at least 4 other national FCs
as I know...
So you if you are unpleased with my posts plz, take them as my and only my. Btw - why it makes you shame for RFO, but not for RoxBytes (I am much more active there).. It shows that you forejudge about them.

FC have just given away not one, but TWO books because of the title...
And I’m DAMN (moderators can change that to ’pretty’ ;) sure that it is a bit of a coincidence that the title agrees with two proposals from two fans...
If I had been one of the two fans I would’ve been been fkn angry with FC if they hadn’t kept their promise. Now it seems they have, so if i were FC and those two fans, I wuld be fkn angry for using the title without permission and without using my name or at least the word ’fan’ in the credits for the title... shit they would’ve gone into trouble if they had registered the name before they did ;)

WHAT DO THEY HAVE TO DO?!?! Repost all the information from the contenst AND the entries they received?!?! More people here REMEMBER the contest. So the publisher says they didn’t get the suggestions from the FC, does that mean the FC is LYING!!! No, it doesn’t. It just means that the decision for the title was made independently, and that there were two people who’s suggestions managed to make it into the title!!!
I have seen weirder crap happen!!! And the FC is carrying out its promise of getting the books to the winners. IF THIS BOTHERS YOU SO MUCH, LEAVE TDR AND THE FC!!!! Quit ruining it for everyone else here!!!

ha, he title the page as “trading CDr”... but if it was really trading, why he then would say “prices don’t include postage”... really dumb.
I think it is not correct at all if a member of the official fc does that!...

There was a competition, yes, but since nothing constructive derived from it, it was canceled from the publisher’s side. What the FC does with their side of the competition is their business.
