WHO CAME FIRST ?

Hi,

Two important questions :

1. Who came first... the egg or the chicken ?

2. Who came first... “Always The Last To Know” or “Det Som Var Nu” ? I mean, is ATLTK the english version of DSVN or is DSVN the swedish version of ATLTK ?

i think, marie wrote DSVN and after she finished she translated the lyrics into english (maybe with pers help :)

btw: is it translated or is the english version different?

SANTI’S HYPOTHESIS:

#1: Egg came first cause birds are descendant of dinosaurs and dinosaurs already used eggs for reproduction :P

#2: Det som var nu came first and Per Gessle did later an English version.

Well, without an egg, there’s no chicken, but, without a chicken, there’s no egg,so,the chicken haves to lay an egg first to have a chicken, but without an egg,you can’t have the chicken that lays the egg,so you need to have a chicken first,to lay the egg,but,.....
:pppppppppppppppp

I think the English lyrics came first........ then the music.......and after that Marie did lyrics of her own in Swedish. The Lyrics in English are different to what the Swedish ones translate to. (I think, I could be wrong, need a Swede’s help)

@ Santi : So, who came first... eggs or dinossaurs ? : )

@ wendy : PERFECT explanation dear !! :) I just LOVE it !!! :)

@ Vixzter : I agree with you, actually. I think ATLTK came first !!

Well, the rest of reptils use egg...
Coming one step back in evolutive history you have amphibia... these also use eggs...
One step backwards fishes... also eggs

I guess eggs are very important in life history... any biologist over there to talk us about ribozimes and nucleid acids??? :DDDDD

About Marie’s song, I would say she does think in Swedish, she’s used to write in Swedish, and that is why I think she did it in Swedish...

Also, “Always the last to know” is credited in BMI as a song by Per Håkan Gessle

i also think Det som var nu came first and then they wrote an English version, for fun. The lyrics are different so I think the English song was just a funny experiment to kill the time.

No need for guessing!

1. The chicken came first. Who else could keep the eggs warm? ;-) Btw. that’s also one reason why I don’t believe in evolution.

2. The english version was first. “Always The Last To Know” is the demo for “Det Som Var Nu”. Marie explained in an interview 2000 that she had an english song that didn’t suit Roxette really well and used it in swedish for her best of.

Now I’m curious, how can someone nowadays not believe in evolution...??? it’s more than proved. :)
What do you believe in?

@Santi : Ahahaha... it looks like that episode of “Friends” where Phoebe said she doesn’t believe in evolution and Ross got really mad about it !!! :)

So, according to Sascha, ATLTK came first... good to know, thanks dude !!!

All eggs were engineered and hatched by asexual alien beings.

I agree with Vix. The demo is from 98, so I think that first came English lyrics, Marie put the music to the song, they didn’t use it for Have a nice day and then she decided to use the melody with Swedish lyrics for her compilation.

nope - chicken came first - through cell reproduction and evolution of species - then they started to reproduce, via eggs as a way of protecting their young.

lyrics come first - i.e. famous story about the beatles and thier song ’yesterday’.

@Onlywhenidream: How do you get from single cells to a complete chicken without the egg?
I mean, I hope everyone agrees (as all scientists do) that life began in the sea. So to achieve that degree of complexity, and most important, to get out of the sea, how do you do it without the eggs??
Frogs doesn’t need protection for their offspring??? Just chickens????

May we remember mammals are the last big family of species that appeared on earth? (and the ones that use sexual reproduction without eggs) :D

@Sascha: The egg is the reason that explains evolution... :DD It’s one of the most successful devices created by evolution along with the eye. :)

cell multiplication, single cells become multiple cells, which form simple organisms, then become more complex organisms - when reproductive capacity is possible eggs are the next step

OK,but,a chicken come out an egg,so,the egg must have been first...euh...and an egg comes out a chicken... :DD
a mystery that can’t be solved :p

@Onlywhenidream: But that happened far before the most simple fishes, who already used eggs, came to live. So it’s pretty clear the eggs are on earth far before the chickens :D You’re telling it :)

Ironically, I discovered this as a little anecdote in a newspaper on the train last night.

“According to Genesis 1:20-22, the chicken came before the egg.”

The debate continues.............

Santi is taking the word chicken literally.... instead of its real meaning.

Which real meaning?

Chicken = animal who legs eggs :p :DD

well, not actually real meaning.... i mean the opposite.... Santi is taking the real meaning of the word instead of the philosophical one....
Wich came first... the animal or the embrion?...

LOL - I don’t know what I am talking about really - just seems most logical to me - I am no scientist for sure, more of a creative - but hope that I have stirred up a few questions.

@ Santi, thanks for the debate - I am sure you have more knowledge than me, so I respect your suggestions. I guess noone really knows, and to be fair - I don’t think that it will be too life shattering when we find out.

Unlike the Pop Hits album - now there’s news!

Big sunny smiles to eveyone!

Well, having in mind an animal is a developed embrion... The embrion had to come first :D

not exactly... there’s a theory called Generación espontánea (spontaneous generation, and it’s more of a myth)... that says some lifeforms can appear spontaneously (in an instant)... so the beginning wouldn’t be the embrion... and there are a few other theories that keep making the egg and chicken debate long lasting.

No one believes in spontaneous generation! That’s not serious, c’mon :DDD

Read for example this: http://www.accessexcellence.org/AB/BC/Spontaneous_Generation.html

and you don’t read well. read my post again... don’t discuss for the saKe of it

”[...]and it’s more of a myth [...........] and there are a few other theories that keep making the egg and chicken debate long lasting “
