Why Marie did this?

Why did Marie allow to use these new tracks included in some crappy bootleg? Were she planning to do some solo stuff in English but then she got sick and decided to forget that idea?
This is probably is not very logical reason, but I can’t help my imagination :)

Most likely the songs were stolen. Imagine how angry Marie must be about it! Now she can’t publish them as brandnew songs anymore. :-(

I’m not so worried about it... It’s clear to me that these songs were meant for Roxette, and were rejected (or maybe they left them behind for a while).
Marie said several times that if she had to do a solo work, it would be in swedish. When Roxette were here in Brazil in 1999, a fan asked her about a solo album in english, and that was what she said.
I think this bootleg is a gift for us.... Knowing Per and Marie as I think I know, maybe we would never see these songs... so, God bless the bootlegs !!!
By the way, my fave ones are “Bad Moon”, “Do You Wanna Go With Me” and “Remember”. I’m not a huge fan of Marie’s solo songs, but these are GREAT !! :)
All the best

have you listened to BEAUTIFUL THINGS in this great rock version? it is suuuuperb!

I also think that these demos were stolen or got into the wrong hands!!!
I don’t think MF has EVER given promission for this since she told my friedns during her solotour that she has some English songs that don’t fit Roxette but she isn’t sure if she DARES to release them.
She’s so unsecure what depends her own English stuff. And there’s absolutely NO NEED for that. The songs are simply BRILLIANT!!!
I still think we should SUPPORT MF to release them herself on a solocd one day!

@ joyrider - Yes... it’s a REALLY great version... but to be honest, I miss the violins a bit !! :)
After listening to such a great bootleg like this... I fall in love even more for Marie !! :)

@ LoneGunman: that fan whom you’re talking about is me :)
I asked her if, after writing a great song in English, such as “Waiting For The Rain”, she would like to make a solo album. She said she wouldn’t do that. That the her focus at that time was Roxette. Then I told her that my favorite song was “Sleeping In My Car”. I remember like it was yesterday. She smiled at me and said: “Yea, that’s a good one!”.
Marie Fredriksson is the sweetest person. Love her!

maybe this will show Marie that she is GOOOOOOD composing English songs as much as she is composing them in Swedish and encourages her to keep on working like this!
I don’t think these are the only ones “hidden” there, so let’s hope she listens to us (one more time).

I had no idea what you guys are talking about. What is the bootleg and what has Marie done that’s so wrong?
Sanna said on November 19, 2002 09:18:
@ colinvdbel..
This bootleg doesn’t sound crappy at all, but it isn’t an official release. I think these songs deserve to be included in a real album!!!

@ Sanna
I have to agree with you.. These tracks must be re-worked and put out!

D.G. : I read your message and believe me, I’m just as clueless about the origins of this bootleg as you are *chuckles* However, I have heard the songs and I like them.
Now for something totally different: *lol* As I was listening to “Always The Last To Know”, I started singing along to the song in SWEDISH!!!! Now, that’s not the first time I’ve done it... however, that’s the first time I have in a language that I’ve never studied. I studied German, Spanish, French and Russian (just bits and pieces of the last two and no more than a semester or 2 of the former two), but I’ve never worked on Swedish.
So, I find it ironic that I started to sing along in Swedish *lol*

Maybe she offered the songs for Roxette and they were rejected, and now she’s so angry that wants to challenge Capitol :DDDDDDDD
