Skipping problems with the new CD

I bought The Ballad Hits yesterday from Finland, and the copy-protected CD probably isn’t fully compatible with my portable CD player (Philips AX5001). The CD skips in some songs, especially during Spending My Time and Queen Of Rain. The skips doesn’t happen always in same spots, but usually the CD skips 3-4 times in a song. Does anyone else has similar problems? Should I go back to the store to replace the CD?
In my computer the CD plays quite OK... it doesn’t open internal player (is there internal player on the CD?), but I can play it on Windows CD player. Sometimes the song order get messed up on that player, but I can handle it...
Has the copy protection gone too far? I think so. People who buy music CDs are customers, and music companies shouldn’t treat their customers like this. I haven’t burned many music discs, because usually there are skippings and other audio problems... now I have same problems with 100% official CD! The sound quality doesn’t sound that good either on this CD. I’m very disappointed... not because Roxette, but because their record company.

Definately take it back! This is silly that “customers” (us music buyers) have to go through this drama just to hear our favorite music. *shame*

I’m quite sure nothing will change getting another copy... These kind of cd’s don’t always work with all players. About the PC, I think that the skipping problem is “calculated and created” from the software developers, so you MUST use the “internal player”...

Playing the cd on my computer if I use the internal player everything is all right (excepe the looooow sound quality...), using Windows Media Player or WinAmp the songs skip and skip and skip...

My CD player can’t be dirty, because all the other CDs play perfectly. Maybe getting another copy doesn’t help either, but maybe I should go back to the store and complain about this... at least then they would know that customers have problems with these copy protected CDs.

well, take your discman to the recordstore and tell them you’re having problems...... and ask if you can try other copies of the CD.....
