"A thing about you" USA/UK release

According to Roxettenews.com: “A thing about you” will also be released in the USA and UK, the plan is to go with a release there around Valentine’s Day 2003.
On the other hand: Anyone in Spain got the single?

oh great! but at the same time it means we won’t get the pop hits for ages!

i think it’s agreat idea for the album and single to be released then. Hopefully Marie will be fuilly recovered and can help with the promo! :) yey!

That means they either already signed a new contract for the USA or will in the near future, doesn’t it? I wonder if the fact ATAY will be released around the same time in the UK, too, and the fact that EMI UK still doesn’t have release dates for TBH & ATAY means they finally found a new record company over there, too...

Single and Spain... I don’t know if you can make a sentence with those words without a negative adverb :DDD

Release it in the UK next year?? What a complete waste of time!!! People that want to hear it .... already have it! .... should have been released when the rest of Europe got it ..... sorry....but I just see it as a pointless exercise.

Still ...... would be nice to have something else to gather dust on my shelves.

It’s like Euro... should’ve been released at the same time :D

or not at all!! ;)

I think this is great, especially for the US. It is not so great for UK, becuase it won’t make very much if it isn’t in international charts like mtv top 20 etc...
JAAP

and by the way, valentines day is great to release this beautiful single!!!!!
Thats really cool!

The way I see it .......... (in the UK, USA is totaly different situation)

Option #1:

The Ballad Hits - A compilation of Rox’s best ballads from the last however many years.

Fantastic! ......... what a great Xmas gift!!!! ...... what with “It Must Have been Love” and Listen To Your Heart” .... everyones fav’s!!! some ppls might even hear Anyone or M&T&H and go out and buy RS or HAND!

Sod releasing the single....its never going to get played anyway ( as you won’t have enough money in your promo budget to pay off the radio stations) .....so just stick it on the album as a bonus track.

Get some adverts placed where ppls most likely to buy the album will look...... ie: OK magazine....... newspapers.....maybe even put an ad on TV ..... could include clips of IMHBL and LTYH ...perfecto!!

Christmas is the biggest retail bonaza!! Think about it EMI!!!! ££££££!!!!!

or

Option #2 :

Release Ballads and Uptempo as a double cd set (or 2 seperate cds but both at the same time) next year .... bring out a double a side single ....1 ballad..... 1 uptempo .....stick a few oldies on the single ie: The Look or Joyride, LTYH or IMHBL ..... the the radio stations have a choice wether to play the ballad or uptempo........place some adverts in the same places as mentioned in option #1 ...... hey presto!! you’re on to a winner!!!

EMI ...think of the ££££’s!!!! coz thats all you’re intrested in! ;)

Maybe its just me who see’s things this way ;)

I was just trying to make EMI a few quid ;) (they probably need it, they just gave £80 million to Robbie)

This is a Front Page news item now...

I’m kinda happy - as long as EMI UK really put some ooomph behind the promotions, then I am sure that ATAY can do well here ... but again, this is all dependent.

Fingers crossed

We sit...... we wait. *sigh*

hmm... better wait & see i guess...

i was thinking...since they repackaged songs from hand with a hits compilation to try a comeback here before why not again....pick the best of rs with the songs from ballad hits and release it here in the us as a new album...something peopel would wanna import :0)

Even if ATAY is getting released in the US, I do not think it will get into the Billboard top 100 single charts at all...
for the UK, I think it would be two weeks in the top 60 and than leave the charts again...
that sounds more like reality to me than thinking Roxette are going to be big again... well, they never were huge in the UK anyway...
