When do we get the rest of the songs...

I’m thinking about the unreleased songs registered at BMI.com. “It hurts” was one of these.
Maybe a left over from TWATG. At least it looks so from the registration number. The rest of the
songs except “Only you” where registered around Christmas 2000. Maybe we get one or two on the POP hits
album, but what about the rest. Maybe we have to wait for the RoxBox...
Anyway, here is the list (you can also take a look for yourself at www.bmi.com):
Only you - Gessle/Desmond Child - BMI WORK # 3718575 - 1995

Maybe Per was inspired reading your nickname... or he listened to The Corrs and changed a bit the lyrics to start a new song :)

Hi folks!
I’ve got the following information, it’s in Spanish though. It’s taken from an interview just before the release of Room Service. I’ll try to put a translation here as soon as possible.
Do You Wanna Go With Me: podríamos decir que ésta es LA BALADA del álbum.
Grtz.,

@m-cvk: This interview was originally sent to the Roxspain ML in february 2001 and turned out to be fake! Someone just used the song titles registered with BMI and made up this interview...
Ha, I found the email with the translation Judith sent to the RML back then... sometimes having a RML archive is kinda useful ;-) It’s kinda funny to read it now (especially that part with the DJs *g*), so i’m gonna c&p it... hope you don’t mind, Judith!

Magnus Norssön (Sthlm).-
This is probably the most important music news this year so far: Roxettes
new album RS, and this is the duos chance and trial to go back to the top in
the world wide pop scenery.
We had the chance to talk with PG and MF in a café in the center of SThlm,
to ask them about this new INNOVATing (is this an english word?) album.
[ENGLISH]
Q: How was the process to create this album?
PG: well, it was easier than with other albums, cuz we did know what we
wanted to do from the beginning. our intention/targed was to go on
experimenting with new sounds without loosing our musical identity. We could
say that this album is a musical journey thru our old works but with another
point of view.
> hubieramos hecho. Realmente este disco abre un nuevo
> camino para nosotros.
[ENGLISH]
MF: Maybe this is the album we have enjoyed the most indoing it. We tried
anything that came to our minds, untill the sound was totaly different to
anything we had done before. Really, this album opens a new door for us.
> ritmos y loops. Un par de canciones del nuevo disco
> tienen mucha influencia suya.
[ENGLISH]
P: During the recording of this album, u had colaboration from other
artists?
PG: Yeah. There were moments were we tended to repeat ideas and then we
invited some well-known DJs from Sthlm to come and see what they could do
with new textures (?). We had, among others, DJ spooky and Trash Sön. Maybe
people will be amazed, but I also invited Howlett from The Prodigy, he was
there with us for some days and we were amazed about the amout of musical
knowledge he had, besides totaly control over rythsm and loops technique.
Two of the songs in the album have a lot of his influence.
[ENGLISH]
Q: FOr what u are saying, its like this album is going to be techno, is this
rox new style?
PG: No, absolutely not, but our fans are waiting for new things, and we have
to take new directions not to fall into repeating the same + the sme.
Anyway, we can say that we have techno influence in some songs, and in
others not that much of it. We havne’t forgot to play the guitarr, even it
may sound abit different. I am sure the fans will enjoy the new album!
> MF: Este disco utiliza bastantes estilos en distintas
> canciones.
MF: We use diferent styles in different songs in RS. Singing in some of them
was really hard (english word to desafio?) due to the quantity of high
notes. But definetely it’s not techno. During the sessions, we joked about
how to call the style of this album, and we think that the most appropiate
is to call it Trip Hop, gospel and pop. We havent found the word for this
style, so we call it “our style” meanwhile.
NOTE by Judith @_@!!?!? trip hop?
[ENGLISH]
Aftar chatting for a while, i had the chance to hear some of the songs from
the new album, that Per had in his discman. Among the songs I heard, there
were:
[ENGLISH]
RUN TO ME: this song is a mix between Underword and the cors, a really alive
song, lots of strength, with trepidant (??!?!!?) rythms, sth that Per called
a “chain of rythms”. Definetely, a song that will be played in a lot of
clubs/discos.
> - Do You Wanna Go With Me: se podría decir que esta
DYWGWM: we could say this is THE BALLAD of the album. We have marie at her
best with sounds that seem to come from ambient and soul.
> - New World: nadie reconocería a Roxette como autores
NW: nobody will know rox as the authors of this song. An intelligent use of
the loops + samples that make ur heart never stop jumping. A sure hit
(again: O_O) i guess this is next single? JUST A GUESS HERE EH??)
> - The Center Of The Heart: es posiblemente la canción
Ciertos coros recuerdan a
> canciones anteriores de este duo.
TCOTH: this is possibly the most conservative song (THANK GOD HAHAH). U can
recognize the guitarrs (!?!?) and sounds that have made Rox the successful
band it is now. Some chorus remind you of old rox songs.

@Kiwein1: Well, I did before and after I posted this ;-) Something woke me up in the middle of the night and I just couldn’t get back to sleep, so I decided to check what’s happening here since my computer was online anyway...
@room-service: Seems to be the same problem like last friday - server’s down and no one there to re-start it :-( But you probably already figured that out, didn’t you? ;-)

Per once mentioned he disliked the second song he wrote together with Desmond Child (“Only You”), so I guess we will never get to hear it. I don´t think it has been recorded, although I´m not sure about that.
