I wanna send out a press release telling the media at large in the UK that the fans are not happy about the way EMI UK are messing Roxette about.

I need to know if everyone here supports me (especially from the UK - but not just from here!)

I want to say that Roxette fans in the UK are thnking about boycotting some releases from the company - Robbie Williams for example - due to the amount of money thrown at him, ignoring some of the other bands-like Roxette.

I want to send it out tomorrow (Tues 15/10) so please put your comments down asap.

Klair ... could I use the UK fanclub as a base of reference, i.e. what I m saying represents the fanclub’s views in the UK?

I am just really angry with the whole thing!

Sadly, at the end of the day the only people that can do anything about EMI are Roxette themselves.

But feel free to vent your opinions at EMI, it is done frequently and probably will continue to be until the end of time. I don’t think that a boycott will work-just imagine how many artists you would have to avoid!!! As a fan of music I wouldn’t be able to do this, sadly.

It is all money at the end of the day, so as long as people in the UK continue to buy such utter trash such as “the ketchup song’ and those 11-year olds who should be in school then we really have no hope.

Don’t think it’s a good idea to tell you are going to boycot them.... To tell they are somewhat ’strange’ isn’t that bad... maybe your letter gets the attention of a reporter, and he is going to do some REAL research.... If you are REALLY lucky.....

Personally, I doubt that a thread on TDR, started the day before your action, gives you legitimy enough to speak for all fans of a whole country...

I was gonna do it via a press release not letter. I have access to mediadisk and pr planner - two powerful media resources. But I didn’t want to do it on my own, as it will only hold some weight if it comes from a lobbying group.
