Guitarrs

we’ve all noticed that roxette has more or less quit to use guitarrs. i´m really sad about that, and i dont think im alone.
i believe a great cause of the decrease in roxette popularity is because of the removed guitars. guitars was = to roxette. i believe that the reason for roxette’s success was the great way they used guitarrs. it must be obvious to any roxette fan, that roxette CAN NOT make as great songs as they used to without the guitarrs.
for example, listen to it will take a long long time. and then listen to the modern rock version. oh my God, that’s right. such a huge difference in a song, just because of some guitarrs.
of course, i do believe roxette has made some good songs since DBUGTTC. i really liked TCOAH and YCPYAAWAG for example. but not in the same way. the songs that really cought my soul is the guitar based ones.
when it comes to ATAY, i dont like it at all. i actually stopped listen to it after 20 times or so. dont like it.
it makes me feel kinda sad.. cause they wont start to play guitars again. ever. most likely.
things will never be the same again. but they still rule ;)

I also miss guitars...but I think that it’s just about time, you know, sooner or later guitars will be back.
If not...what’s Per going to do with his big collection of guitars? It would be very sad to leave them covered by dust :)

He can always make a contest among his fans... I would love to have one of his Rickenbakers :D

??? Mattias You need new speakers if you can’t hear guitars in ATAY! ;-) There’s an acoustic guitar guiding through the whole song. Beginning with the bridge there are even electric guitars!
So they still use them a lot. But I know what you mean: The heavy distorted powerchords. Maybe they get in fashion again!

It´s not really true that rox don´t use guitars anymore. They are more in the background now but the same interesting than in CBB songs. Sometimes when you have a “guitar-song” they play just simple power-chords but they are not in the background - they are in “the front of the song”.... but I know what you mean...
I think that the 4 bonus-tracks on DBUGTTC are the best rox-songs... everthing gessle did between 1995 and 1997 was great!
by the way: roxette had just one guitarrist on stage between 1986 and 1992 because Per wasn´t playing for real in that time.... today he does!

yea i know there are some giutars in ATAY. but then there are guitarrs in all the roxette songs. you know what i mean ;)

I know exactly what you mean. But for a guitarist it´s sometimes much more difficult to play a song where the guitars are in the background than a guitar-song!
yeah, I do also miss the real guitar-songs... As I said before: gessles best time was between 1995 and 1997...

I also liked the guitar sound for example from the whole Joyride album (ok... not Watercolours... :S), even if the guitars were treated, faked or whatever you would like to say.
But if the new uptempo songs are going to sound like Sleeping in my car style... then guitars are back :P
Well, and if they are not back you have a whole world of musicians that use a lot of guitars instead of Roxette... (including “new” Gyllene Tider, Per Gessle solo...). You’re not forced to like them, I use to think...
