"THE ROCK SET" as compilation title

The rock set? yes it’s nice
I actually liked “Power peas” or “Power pearls”.
If we have a “The ballad hits” I aso want to have a “The rock hits” just to follow...

Would be nice if they change the ballad compilation AGAIN to “The ballad set” to have in spring “The rock set”

Ok, now that it seems that TDR maybe has had anything to do with the change of the ballad compilation album title, I just wanted to know who likes “THE ROCK SET” as title for the uptempo compilation.

I mean, probably we won’t change anyone’s mind (of the ones who really decide), but I think it sounds nice.

What d’ya think?

i don’t like it

The sad rock said “Roxette”!

yes i think rock set is the best title

I want the peas back!!!!

teehee... very well.... ;)

Yeah If it is ROCK set then let it be “Rock Set”.
But it is up to Roxette to decide -)

I like it!

I also want the PEAS back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want peas I want peas I want peas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:p

yeah thats a cool idea

Hey!
I think the peas are much better....
But now another question: Rock set sounds also nice to me, BUT DOES ROXETTE MAKE ROCK MUSIC??????
Run to you? No.
Church of your heart? No.
Stars? No.
The centre of the heart? no.
Joyride? maybe.
Real sugar? It wasn’t a hit, and also not very ’rock’.
June afternoon? no.
The look? yup.
The big L? Yup
How do you do? no.
Sleeping in my car? yup
almost unreal? no.
So i think Roxette is just a pop group, which is on stage more a rock band, and some of their songs are a little bit ’rock-ish’, but most of them are just catchy pop tunes.
JAAP
p.s. I know some of you don’t agree with me that some songs aren’t ’rock’, but hey, maybe thats just a personal opinion....

And do they make peas?

Run to you? No.

:D

Both rock set and power peas suck ;P

I prefer a line from a rox (well known) song as a title for the new GH. Like:

For the ballads compilation:

“Roxette - Beautifull and blue”
“Roxette - The scent of magic”

For the uptempo songs:

“Roxette- Hitting like a hammer”
“Roxete - Hold on tight!”

Know what I mean?

Close2U: One of the greatest Ideas I heard so far, but i still prefer the peas. It is something really original, you know, not many artists used them already! It has something sweet....

Close2U: i have been thinking of something extraordinary too! That would actually be best, coz all these Greatest hits related names just sound all the same and therefore a bit boring. And roxette is not really rock in my ears either, so Rock set is nothing that fits.

Close2U - Great idea! “Beautiful & blue” is fab -)

Yup, 1000 points to Close2U for “Beautiful and Blue”... perfect for the ballads collection!

It seems the cover is already done.

Close2U: Good idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@close to you : good idea
@japeke : i even think that “the look” “sleeping in my car” and all the other songs you’ve called rock, aren’t rock....rock music is (for me) Metallica,Guns n’ roses,Bon jovi(the older stuff),....

they shoudla made it a double album and simply called it ROXETTE

@wendy: Me thinx almost the same... but I thought, hey, lets caal some songs rock..... ;-)
JAAP

I agree with @coyboyusa, although the other idea of using verses taken from Roxette is great as well. But it seems it’s all decided now.

You’re right, Rock isn’t really the word though many other supposed ROCK bands make no rock music. There are many different styles hidden under those four big letters.

And “POP SET” sounds a bit stupid :D

I guess my idea wasn’t that good after all, but well, I’ll do something that few here ever really do, accept it and that’s all ;)

Thanks very much for critisizing and supporting my idea, it was funny to test it :D

@wendy: “Sleeping In My Car” is pure Rock and Roll! The “Neanderthal-riff”, the powerful chorus, the “nasty” lyrics... Elvis Presley is The Rock & Roll King and some Roxette songs can be heavier then his. Brazilian rock radios always play “The Look” and “How Do You Do!”.
What I want you to see is that there are lots of “kinds” of Rock And Roll”. To me, Moby’s “We Are All Made Of Stars” is rocky. A soft kind of rock, but it is.
BTW, “Sleeping In My Car” is the best song EVER!

Peaspeaspeaspeaspeaspeaspeaspeaspeaspeas... I feel like a 2 year old just learning how to say “please” “Peas get that for me mommy.”

Close2U’s ideas are cool.... specially “Hitting Like A Hammer”... it just screams “wow... pick me up!!! i rock! i’m great! i’m pure ROXETTE”.... okay.... i HAVE gone mad. but thats my opinion ;)

“HIT-ing like a hammer” Is great too for up-tempos!

About The “Love Peas” (Lately called Ballad Hits) in STERLING SOUND STUDIO, it’s funny that the genre of the record is said to be rock... and these are the Ballads :D

Who did say Roxette are not rock? According to GEORGE MARINO (someone who knows a lot about how rock may sound) Roxette is in the same genre as:

- Bon Jovi’s “Bounce” and “Crush”
- The Cranberries’s “Wake up and smell the coffee”
- Aerosmith’s “Just push play”
- Coldplay’s “Parachutes”
- Dream Theater’s “Live scenes from New York”
- Jimi Hendrix Experience
- Lenny Kravitz’s “Lenny” and Greatest Hits
- Nickelback’s “Silver Side up”
- The Dandy Warhols... The Wannadies...

And I’m NOT the one who says it, it’s GEORGE MARINO himself, who mastered all these albums... that knows what he’s talking about :P (if he doesn’t know, then nobody knows...)

So c’mon... what’s the matter with calling the other album “THE ROCK SET”???? :DDDD

The link for disbelievers:

http://www.sterling-sound.com/home/engineers/eng_info?contact_id=103

Look for complete discography and there you can find Roxette’s “Love Peas” and “Have a nice day” (the latest Roxette records to be mastered by George Marino at Sterling Sound, New York -“Room Service” was mastered by Chris Blair at Abbey Road Studios, London)

i think they should have called them: pearls of love & pearls of POP

As I said before I’d like
ROXETTE’s Rock Set!

But maybe they should call it “POP(P)-Set” an put some sex-toys in it! ;-)

HAHAHAHA :DDDDDDD That would be funny :P

Good idea :p
;)
