I like the Look Sharp! album from 1988. What other artists from around that time have a similar kind of sound? Although Roxette are a pop group they do have a rock edge to some of their songs which really make them stand out.
I was listening to some old tapes recently and heard a track called Never by the group Heart and felt there was a definate similarity with Roxette. Has anyone got the 1985 self-titled Heart album? I’d love to hear what the rest of you think.

I was thinking of posting a similar topic to this a while ago. :)
What I was going to mention was that I think that some people find Berlin’s late 80s music confused with Roxette. In particular the song ’Take My Breath Away’. I first saw this when looking for rare Roxette songs on KaZaA. I type ’Roxette’ in the search, and I sometimes see ’Take My Breath Away’ there. Some people need to do their homework. :P

Rox has their own typical sound that is still present nowadays, although the sound HAS changed.
Which songs or bands do remind of roxette? Hmm....
Some songs of Celine Dion “That’s the way it is” is typical “run to you” by roxette. Some REM songs are similar style to the rox songs from the CBB album.
And here in Holland some time ago David Charvet (some sucker from “Baywatch”) did a song “Leap of Faith” that could easily be a bubblegum rox song.
I don’t know. Rox has a very unique sound, and only sometimes I hear songs that could be theirs...
Cheers.

YEah actually. Listen to your Heart sounds very much like Heart’s “What about Love?” I believe. I don’t think I can name any band that sounds like Roxette. I believe the reason why Roxette was popular back in the last 80’s and early 90’s was because they were neither Rock N’ Rollish nor Discoish nor Popish. That’s what I think. They were just different. Up until then I was into Queen, Pink Floyd and 70’s but ROxette had this revolutionary sound I love. Na... I can’t think of any other group which sound like Roxette.
