hello
I uploaded the atay cd ripp on my server. it will remain there till tomorrow friday after noon. maybe someone of you can download it and upload it to a faster server? Tomorrow I need my connection again, that’s why I have to remove it soon again...

@Alfonsette: Actually I think sharing it over Kazaa isn’t that good an idea... most of the people downloading it here will buy the single anyway, but I doubt the same’s true for those downloading it on Kazaa :-( Uploading it to eg RoxBytes would be better, wouldn’t it?

@ Starrox: as far as I know roxbytes.com only releases stuff that is not available to buy. ok, atay is not available to buy at the moment, but will be released quite soon. So I don’t think they will release it, but well, maybe I am wrong and it’s worth to ask them...

Please just upload the Song on sites, where only Rox-fans (who’ll probably buy the single) can find it.

I left Kazaa on for the night, and realised only now that I had ATAY shared. People have downloaded almost a hundred files from me, ATAY wasn’t among them. So you don’t have to worry, non-rox fans don’t know anything about the song. And they wouldn’t buy the single anyway...

I think it’s better not to share the mp3 file with non-fans. Many non-fans downloaded TCOTH last year.

Actually the income from single sales is marginal, only a few people buy those. People who are simply just interested in a song won’t go and buy the single, rather download it.
I personally buy only singles of bands who I really like, I bought Bon Jovi’s Everyday single the last time, both editions, since they had different tracklist.
If there is a new artist or a new song from a band, and I like it - after hearing it on the radio, I try to download some songs from the album. If I like them, I buy the whole album. I do buy tons of CDs, however, I don’t give money for something I might not like.
It is very likely that ATAY won’t get too much airplay. If you share the song, you help promoting the new single - and the new compilation album.

i dont really regard sharing the WHOLE song as a form of promotion. It limits the ” marginal slaes” of singles to zero, especially when the single is comingout with an album track as a b-side. please dont get me wrong I more than appreciated being able tohear the whole song on the net, seeing as living in america we’re in a musical void, but I worry often that many peopel, as you have seen from this posting, are interested in downloading everything and paying for noting. its the reason we lose the argument in the digital music debate every time. its hard to justfy the ” i own it so I can share it” principal when people don’t buy it to begin with

I have a question... in the very beggining of this version, it seems to have some “problem” with the sound... I mean, like it was backwards or something, and then, sudenly the Cello solo cames from nowhere... is it just me or it really happens ?

the song is not on the FTP server. It’s on the main http server. The site is not down and haven’t been down since ages. The downloads are working, I’ve just checked, ATAY downloads fine.
If you have problems, would you please read the Info&FAQ part of the site, there is useful information on downloading.
The file is in Audio > Offprint. Your browser might have cached an older version of the site, I’ve changed the file and the link a few days ago. Emopty the cache of your browser and load the site again.

Yeah, I didn’t know it was on the site and not in the ftp :) I was trying with the FTP client, that’s why I couldn’t get it. I downloaded it earlier, and already heard it. It’s a bit different from the version that was played in the radio :)
