In Germany you meet EVERYWHERE news about Marie! the most “important” tabloid (like the sun), bild has a huge article on it’s website: http://www.bild.t-online.de
even in all video texts (especially on mtv’s) you find Marie mentioned.
many radiostations (including antenne 1) mentioned it in their news.
GET WELL SOON MARIE!!!

Report from The Sun in the UK:
“Cancer of pop Marie
Pop star Marie Fredriksson of 90s band Roxette has brain cancer.
Marie, 44, was taken to hospital after a fall.
Pals thought over work was to blame but tests showed a brain tumour.
Swedish band Roxette had five top ten hits in the early 90s including Must Have Been Love (sic), and Joyride.
Crop-haired blonde Marie who has two children aged nine and five, was awaiting further test result in Stockholm last night.
Her manager Marie Dimberg said: ’Her family are choked.’ “
For those that have access to BBC Ceefax, see page 452.

Ok, this is what Estonian newspapers write:
Member of Roxette, Marie Fredriksson, was diagnosed brain tumour last week.
Last Wednesday Marie fainted in her home in Stockholm. Marie was taken into the hospital where she was diagnosed concussion, announced EMI-s Estonian representative.
While exploring what had caused the fainting, it appeared that member of Roxette has a brain tumour.
At this moment Roxette has cancelled all the plans, but band is giving hope that their new album “Love Peas - The Ballad Hits”, which is planned for November, would still be on its way.

@Zee: Estonia is a former republic of the U.S.S.R. on the Baltic sea a bit east of Finland. Rox did a concert there on the “Room Service” tour!

About the report: what an odd selection of information! I mean, all they could say about Marie’s massively successful solo career is that she duetted with Frida?! Even that they got wrong... that was in 1992! Oh well, the part about “biggest Swedish act on the US charts ever” was certainly nice... (:

Here in Canada, they don’t even know Roxette. I mean 90% don’t, even more.
As I was waiting for my dentist to show up, I was reading THE PROVINCE ( Vancouver Daily Newspaper). Marie’s story was on the 1st page believe it or not! I was like what the hell! They’re just waiting for someone to faint and cover their story in their paper?? They don’t even release the DVD in here. They release the albums 6-8 months later. It’s sad! Very sad!
