Alarmists

As news of Ms. Fredriksson’s illness/affliction/tumour hits TDR, it causes general pandemonium amongst several of the fans. For some, it seems to end their lives as they’ve known it. For others, it puts a cramp in their plans for Night Of The Proms, but they’re going on. Then there’s the group that is cautiously optimistic, those that know of the severity of the situation, but know that things are being done.
I’m angered that there are people here who have already put Ms. Fredriksson half-way, or completely into the grave. She’s not dead for Pete’s sake! People are acting like this tumour is cancer. It might not be! It could be any NUMBER of things. WE don’t know what it is. We won’t have any more information until it’s released to us, and until the doctors know for sure one way or the other.
As I’ve stated numerous times in the recent hours since this news broke: Let’s just take a few steps back and relax. Okay, she spent 4 days in the hospital. From what I gather from the information I read, she was feeling EXTREMELY dizzy and faint. Here in Utah, minimum time spent in the hospital for observation is 24 hours. Most doctors will go for that. Now, in order to run tests, observation will go up from 24 hours to 72 or more.
It takes time to get the results back. Now, doctors could have released her to go home, or keep her for the duration of the tests. Not all tests can have results at the end of 96 hours, and if the doctors can’t find anything requiring IMMEDIATE hospitalisation, they’ll cut her loose and let her go home until the results come in. Then, she and her husband will be called in and the results of her tests will be known.
There are two options: Either it’s nothing serious and can be cared for by taking medication that will reduce swelling of the brain, or, it’s worse and further tests and hospitalisation will be required. No one knows for sure. Although, at 2230MDT, something MIGHT be known over in Sweden, as they are 8 hours ahead of me. But I doubt doctors will deliver news at 0630, unless it’s extreme. However, I doubt that, since she wasn’t being treated for a GSW or anything of that nature (GSW = Gun Shot Wound).
The long and short of it ladies and gentlemen, take a break. Say some prayers for her and her family and close friends. Forget any concerts / promos / photo ops for a while, they ain’t gonna happen until the doctors give the okay.
Peace

Uhm... when did the doctors decide that this was cancer??? TUMOURS DO NOT MEAN CANCER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, for everyone thinking that it’s cancer, wait until there’s an official release as to what it is from the medical profession.
Congratulations to the media: Ya’ll is STUPID! Thank you for proving to me that you REPORT INFORMATION WITHOUT ALL THE FACTS!!!!! Now I know why the saying is around:
Don’t believe everything you read.
