The bass

The bass in ATAY annoys me.... i can’t stand it...

don’t listen to it... at least so often...

LOL!

That telephone sound annoys me also... more than the bass :P

papapararoung....

I knew there would be something to moan about !

LOL ;)

@vixzter: LOL! ;o) and all those guitars. and the voices. it’s terrible!

sorry.

@ little-miss-sorrow

no! please! don’t say that...it may sound selfish but it’s my fav song...the only thing that somehow could annoy me is that telephone but hey, i am already used to it.. magic!

Hey! It’s not fair to listen this song & start hating it before the album! Roxette songs can’t be annoying!!! It’s just impossible! If you don’t like it, don’t listen... Why do you cry about it all over?

I don’t think that Little-Miss-Sorrow was crying..she just made a joke about the complainings.. ((-:

the bass isn’t good in the way this long haired guy plays it. anders’ bass was more groovy and “deeper” played... christoffer plays the bass to high ... only my opinion

if u dont like it dont listen to it but stop nugging about it

thank you kiwein! IT WAS A JOKE! i also can’t stand all the people complaining... if you don’t like the bass don’t listen to it. it’s that simple!

i love atay!!! ;o)

and “that long haired guy” (i’m sure he likes to be called christoffer) is quite good i think. just my own little opinion.

@ little miss sorrow

i haven’t said anything about ATAY - i love that song too, this topic is about the bass in general (i guess) - anyway. this long haired guy (who should be better a kelly family-band member, mr. christiffer lungysdfse) plays a different bass than anders did - and anders played it in my opinon better (deeper, i said that before). i’ve got my own band and if a bass is played to high, a song looses its special groove, you know, it’s a kind of base or foundation and this is what i was looking for to hear on the room-service record too and now the “high-bass-story” continues ...

vaxjoe.. you seem the only one not interested in talking about this guy called christoffer.... with his high pitched playing style.
So please.... let us talk and get lost...

@joyrider I agree... but I say the bass can play high.... but just in the correct times..... and with the correct timing.... like Anders does.... or Flea most of the time...
but not playing hight notes all the time... the songs begin to lack of strenght..... and more things that deep solid bass base give. And yes... Anders had much better rythm and groove than Christoffer.
@alienista: the song is great.... the bass annoys me :)
and i ddin’t say anything about the album did i?

Christoffer Lundquist*s (not Lundsdefsef or s l t ;)) way to play bass fits Brainpool perfect, but it ain’t perfect for Roxette.
Christoffer is a nice person, I’ve liked him since the first time we’ve met in 94 .. but Anders was way better for Rox.
But this is an ooooooooooooooooold discussion!
We can cry about “loosing” Anders, he won’t come back, so we have to accept those permanently played high-notes.
Nevertheless ATAY is an almost PERfecht song :))))

There are more bass players close to the anders style than crhis style.....
so... It is not so necesary to stick with chris ;))))))

see topic: “fan forecast”

I have to agree with Joyrider about the bass. Of course if Anders played in ATAY it would have been much improved... But I shall never say that this song or smth in it annoys me...

I see Ferdan... You may not like the song... It’s your right... In my turn I don’t really like Soul Deep, so I don’t listen to it that often... -)

Don’t get offended... It’s just advice - Don’t say to all TDR that you don’t like the song, you may hurt somebody’s feelings. This causes the fights here...

per and marie like working with Christpher so it’s not up to me or any of us to say CHRIS BUG OFF cause i think he plays really good...if Anders in no longer in the band that’s something that only concerns the band...

I think the bass on ATAY isn’t that bad i don’t really notice it in parts... anyway if i were to bother myself with technical music details i wouldn’t be able to apreciate music at all...it’s much more than that guys...

I guess now ATAY is becoming a boredom to some here ...i knew it....what else is new? Roxette fans are meant to be what they’re now...dissilutionated and dessapointed with everything that comes out now... Missing the past? Crying for the lost baby milk?
It’s too late...whether you grow with Roxette’s music now or it will never make any sence to any of you anymore... they decide how they do their music...how could any of our opinions change a thing?

@Ferdan: i know we don’t get a long with each other that well but just to let you know that i said this not refering especifically to you otherwise you’ll get offended as always...it’s only a general personal comment! Crapy to you as always but not directed to you! Let’s make that clear....
Peace, Heart

I can say I like him out or in of the band whenever I want... everyone can, it’s just an opinion.... it’s stupid to say it’s not our matter. it’s the point of a discussion forum... to discuss about the subjects we bring up. maybe you didn’t know this was a discussion forum.

I´m not making a petition.... i´m not proposing anything.... i´m not demanding anything.... just saying I don’t like Crhistoffer in Roxette... just telling an opinion.

@Alienista... I do like the song!! a lot.... only the bass is a bit disturbing. But oh well.... nothing can be perfect ....anymore...

Ferdan:why dont U get lost? the only thing u do in here is whinning anyway

vaxjoe, calm down, please -))

The more you argue the higher this topic is on the list of the forum...

OK, Ferdan ;-)

@Heart 2002
Well, I think there is nothing against talking about our opinions. I really like discussions (if they are not low-level ones), to argue and to read the opinions of others. For me it’s interesting, and sometimes I’ve changed my mind after an interesting discussion. It can help you to learn about other ppl, to learn to understand the “world”.
I guess, not all opinions are expressed to change Roxettes way.

The other thingie: I love music, and I can enjoy listening to the whole artwork. But I also love to listen especially to the bass-line, if it’s a gr8 one, or the drums (for example, the drums in Love is all after the first chorus .. it’s so amazing to me! I really love it!), or some keyboard-tunes, and so on ...
Maybe it’s just because I’m really into music, not just listening but also playing guitar by myself. I’m interested in several other instruments I want to learn later on, when I will live in my own flat (piano, saxophon and maybe drums, if the flat will be big enough).
And since a lot of ppl are posting, who play some instruments, those discussions about some technical details won’t stop. And why should it be that way?

To discuss (in a fair way) is something, which helps you to grow, too. To learn through other’s experiences and opinions. There’s nothing bad about that!

vaxjoe..... the only thing you do is to moan and whine at my whining... like if you were being @#ºked... keep doing it if you like it.
besides of the “joke”..... there’s nothing more of a loser than to complain ’bout a complain.

”....said the philosopher, the never mistaken man” Ferdan look if u have issues take it out on someone else and leave me alone, u dont know who i am go and take your anger out to somone who actually cares....say whatever u want u cant hurt me

Ok guys let not take this so personal....Ferdan likes the song and so does Vaxjoe...the only things here is that Ferdan does not like the bass played here that’s all nothing more serious....

Christpher and Anders are both great bass players at least to me.... and even if Chris is still on the band we have to accept that ...he is in because Roxette wanted him .... as far as that is concered we can only say whether we like him or not and that’s it....

Hmmmm... seems like Mr. Cynical is talking again!
