well having been a journalist for an industry paper - and having worked with a lot of them in my life as a PR person, I know that a lot of trade mags do say something nasty about different people / products.
oh well just thought I would bring it in. another coversation burnt down at the first. not really sure why I bother saying anything.

Hey, relax - I didn’t say it wasn’t worth posting about, I just wanted to point out that a positive review in an industry trade paper like this one has to be taken with a grain of salt... I personally really like these views from the inside because they give you a look at what a single or album’s chances of success were right out of the gate... if the industry doesn’t pay any attention, you can bet the public isn’t ever going to hear it. Nevertheless, you can see for yourself that there’s nothing printed in this publication about an artist or their work that is anything less than glowing.

sorry for getting a bit touchy, had a bad day at work.
Thanks Judith for the comment. I know they are few and far between and that’s why I like nice Uk reviews too.

@onlywhenidream: no worries... work sucks! (: I understand completely... if I hadn’t been at work myself when I replied to your post the first time it probably wouldn’t have come off sounding so negative. Did you ever read the review of “M&T&H” in Q? It wasn’t horrible, a whole bunch of nice stuff followed by “and then it all goes wrong in the chorus.” But not as bad as it could be... I think it ended up with three stars!

Judith: Re: “We are not Bush and his doggy Blair”
What are you suggesting here? That the duely elected leader of the British population is Bush’s Lap dog?
When it comes to world security and the prevention of terrorisim, British folk think, act and believe in the same values and principles as our American Cousins.
... our “doggy Blair”, as you put it, is representing and carrying out the wishes of the majority of the British population.

@Steven: I think Judith’s just referring to a recent George Michael video that depicted something along those lines, rather than her own beliefs (just a hunch!).

@ roxtexanet - no never did read the review in Q, but read one in the guardian - in their ’Guide’ which comes out on Saturday. It starts with a ’love this’ song has all the song that are passable and then has a ’hate this’ song. Yes M&T&H was the ’HATE THIS’ song!
LOL
I would never have guessed from such a pseudo-liberal publication. I mean even the Daily Mail and its overly Conservative veiws probably would have given it a better review. Maybe, actually, I am reading too much into this.
LOL

It’s just an industry newspaper... they never say anything bad about anyone, they’re just trying to “move product”
